The 906BB is the latest entrant into New Balance’s basketball family. Built atop NB’s exquisite Zip platform and a forefoot ABZORB cushioning insert, the 906 is properly equipped to hold up during a strenuous summer on the concrete. Up above, the shoe’s patent leather upper is rigged with a wrap-around tongue and independent lacing vamps that work conjointly to provide a fit that morphs to your foot’s bony structures during play.
Like nearly all of New Balance’s BB catalog, the 906 will come in a bushel of fruity team colorways–eight to be exact–so don’t fret if your team runs fulls in the color purple. Multiple widths for wide-footed fellas will be available, too.
The New Balance 906 BB is available now at NB Web Express.

My association with running has always been one tenuously linked with the proverbial love/hate (mostly hate) relationship. I’d stare longingly at the malformed rims on my school’s playground while running laps around our eco-friendly track that was made out of long-forgotten car tires in junior high. The trend continued in high school, where I likened a day’s work at the track to a torturous sentence at Guantanamo.
But with hoopin’ momentarily stalled, (I’m recovering from a pretty severe case of tendonitis—I’ve complained about that here on far too many occasions, though.) I’ll admit, I’ve taken to jogging with a sense of guarded optimism. The docs say it’ll help strengthen my tendon and surrounding muscles if I stretch heavy and work progressively on a “1 lap, 2 laps, 3…” regimen.
I marinated the New Balance 1306 Zip and 805 Trainer over the winter; they’ll be my two go-to kicks when I hit the beaten path this summer. Learn more about both pairs after the jump!

“I sport New Balance sneakers to avoid a narrow path.” – Phife Dawg
The Five Foot Assassin’s been on NB since The Low End Theory” hit in ’91. Question is, where have you been? In a decade where poorly constructed reissues and haughty collabs dictate the market, it’s refreshing to see New Balance fastidiously recreate their products of yesteryear like they construct their performance stalwarts of today.
The CM670N Pack validates the Boston company’s commitment to quality and value. There’s no need to look up Billy Mays and “The Pitchmen” crew, ain’t no gimmicks here. Sumptuous suede and mesh accents mark the classic runner’s upper, while C-CAP cushioning and a distinct midsole rev the engines under the 670’s hood.
