Baddest Man In The Land stating his case for All-Decade Selection
This past Summer marked the 10th anniversary of the Big Apple’s most prominent (and best dressed) beach tournament, Hoops In The Sun. After such a strong run in the summerball business, tourney Director’s/CEO’s Joe and Randy Cruz have announced their ALL-DECADE initiative, in which they’ll be selecting top moments from the past 10 seasons to be celebrated during this anniversary. Their plan is to recognize and honor the best of HOOPS IN THE SUN 10 year history.
You (the fans, coaches, players, and readers) will be an important part of this initiative because the Cruz Bros. would like your input on everything. They invite everyone to voice their opinions, selections, favorite moments, etc. through Twitter (twitter.com/hoopsinthesun), Facebook (facebook.com/JoeRandyCruz), and right here on Bouncemag.com in the comment section of this post. You can also hit ‘em up via email at Hitstalk@gmail.com to vote and join the H.I.T.S. mailing list. This way you can keep up on all the voting progress, as well as any news.
Starting Dec. 1, make sure you check on Hoops In The Sun fan pages (Twitter,Facebook) and Bouncemag.com every week to vote. Categories include: All-Decade Team (by position), Regular Season/Playoff performance, All-Star Game performance, Player of the Decade, Championship Game of the Decade, Team of the Decade, and of course the dramatics such as Dunk of the Decade.
Peep the statement from Young CEO Randy Cruz himself after the jump.

THROWBACK!!!!!
The first time I saw these sneakers, I was in 10th grade reading a Slam Magazine during lunch, fell in love with them then and I still love ‘em. Who would have known six years later I would be an online writer at large for bouncemag.com? Now if only I can find a pair on Ebay.

Me and Former Chicago Bull Bj Armstrong at the Sprite Slam Dunk Show Down.
2009 was the worst year for streetball hands down and it’s all of our faults including mine! We let these corporate guys come down to our level and destroy something that belongs to our city! If you look back in the past to the ’80s and early ’90s these corporate giants were nothing but a banner, now we allow them to control and manipulate our tournaments at every level including high school.
