It was gully hot in NYC and the line up was strong. Jim Jones – Harlem’s finest along with Shammgod, Bobbito – razor sharp on the hosting tip, Adrian “A-Butta” Walton – focused, Corey Homicide – fully loaded, Black Jack Ryan – deadly, a new and improved Ryan “Special EFX” Williams, and Young Money/Cash Money Brother Lil Twist were all in the gym. Producer-Artist Chiddy Bang was in the cut, Matt Johnson and his tight-shorted girlfriend, Kim Schiano repped for Team Brooklyn, and Wiz Khalifa was geared down.

Sean Bell’s All-Stars head coach, Lil’ Rah (better known as The Black Bobby Knight, as Joe Pope puts it) made a grand entrance with lots of “Action” as Watson faithful know it. Read More »

Last week I had the pleasure of checking out a Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) game between Ponce and San German. It was an important game for seeding as playoffs were approaching fast. The game was so good I had to share what I experienced with you.

Rodney White, picked 9th overall in the 2001 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons (ahead of Joe Johnson, Richard Jefferson, Gerald Wallace, Tony Parker and Gilbert Arenas among others) led the Ponce Leones in what was a slugfest of basketball with playoff implications. Read More »
