Throughout August, The Jim Couch Foundation sponsored workouts at Fordham University for boys and girls of all ages. Even though the workouts are technically free, the participants paid in sweat and hard work. The summer may be typically reserved for tournaments but it’s also a chance for players to refine skills they have and work on the ones they don’t. Instruction from experienced NYC ballplayers, including NBA Top 50 Greatest Player Nate “Tiny” Archibald, was just too valuable to pass up for a ton of players. Archibald said that he saw a lot of potential at the workouts and that a main reason he wanted to be apart of it was to give back and help the next generation learn.
Free basketball clinics for 13-year-old and under boys and girls will be offered at the Central Park Great Lawn basketball courts on 84th Street. Each clinic is an hour session, consisting of players of the same age and skill level. The first 30 minutes are drills taught by former college and professional players, while the last 30 minutes consist of two pickup games. A few participants are Stanly Isaac’s, Dragons, Each One Teach One, Scan Girls, and Long Island Lighting.

We all love the game, here is a way for all of us to stay healthy while enjoying our passion at the same time.

As we approach the modern era and carefully place it under a microscope, we find that this mental model holds true and rarely if ever deviates from it’s chosen course.
