Garnett has a problem with the Spanish players who are in the League. A couple of days agos, KG tried to intimidate to Jose Calderon, but he hit with the Spanish fury and the character of the Raptors guard, who demanded respetc.
I called Calderon the day after the incident and his message was clear: “I only wanted my respect.” Garnett’s provocations against the Spanish became against him and he had to accept his error. “He can do those things but me too.” Calderon had spoken. Read More »

LOS TRES AMIGOS- DP, T2 AND DRE 3000: T2 WAS GREAT AND DRE 3000 CAME BACK HOME Uncategorized / Oct 25, 2008 / 9:12 am
Last days were specials for two of our ‘Tres Amigos’. Andre Barrett came back home to play against Lakers and Clippers in several NBA pre-season games and Quinton Hosley made his debut in Euroleague and did his best game with Real Madrid. The bad news come from Darren Phillip, who took advantage of their few minutes his ACB game, but didn’t have a real opportunity yet.

There were a couple of games in the Spanish league last week, except for Darren Phillip who had got a ‘day off’ on the weekend. Our Tres Amigos had got another opportunity to show their skills to my country and they did it, but one of them didn’t have his coach’s confidence. Keep reading…

A SPANIARD IN NYC (PART VII): HASTA LA VISTA BABY Uncategorized / Sep 17, 2008 / 8:39 pm
See you next summer
That’s it. My NYC streetball trip ended on July 25th. My last day in the City was a little bit bored for this blog readers: just woke up later, made my luggage and did last shopping. I went to NBA Store to buy some jerseys, T’s and shorts. Then I ate something at Times Square and walked around Central Park before went to Kennedy Airport. The last game that I watched wasn’t basketball… it was an amateur baseball game, haha. The funniest thing of that day was that I couldn’t put all my new clothes inside my bag and I had to wear five jerseys, a T-Shirt and jeans to come back to Madrid. It was a VERY hot flight, believe me! Read More »

A SPANIARD IN NYC (PART VI): THE CAGE, ROCK STEADY CREW 31st ANNIVERSARY AND A-BUTTA Uncategorized / Sep 9, 2008 / 6:45 pm
Playing at The Cage.
July 24t was my penultimate day in NYC… and one of the best. I went to The Cage to watch the Rock Steady Crew 31st anniversary (there were a streetball tournament and a B-boys battle). I arrived at the West 4th Courts just to watch the games because my man Bobbito was ready to play with his squad, but when I was in the park he asked me to run with they. I was wearing short jeans and AF1 low, but somebody gave me a bball shorts and I could play. Read More »

A SPANIARD IN NYC (PART V): TRI-STATE CLASSIC, GAUCHOS GYM AND GOD SHAMMGOD Uncategorized / Sep 3, 2008 / 7:09 am
My sixth day in NYC was July 23rd. I was really really tired that day, so I planned a kind of calm journey. I woke up later than other days and went out to walk around Central Park. I wanted to see Strawberry Fields and the tribute to Lennon, but it was a little bit disappointing. I watched it in some guides with a lot of flowers and poems, but when I saw it there were just two roses and a tulip. What’s up with The Beatles’ fans!! Then I was taking some photos all around the park and pestering squirrels. The day was turning dark and was threatening rain, so I didn’t know what was going to happen with the evening games… Read More »

A SPANIARD IN NYC (PART IV): NIKE PRO CITY, KENNY SATTERFIELD, NIKE ONE AND HOMICIDE The Latest / Aug 26, 2008 / 6:26 pm
July 22th was my fifth day in NYC. I woke up early, as everyday, and went out to walk around the city. I took the train to Brooklyn and went shopping at Fulton Mall, where I bought some gifts, a PSP videogame (NBA Ballers Rebound we cant buy it in Spain!) and some clothes. Then I decided to cross the Brooklyn Bridge (my favourite place in New York) by foot and came back to the downtown walking. I know its a long distance, but I was a tourist who liked to take some pics, hahaha. I ate something and return to my hotel to leave all my shopping bags and though about what streetball tournament could be the best choice for that day.
I had to choose between Nike Pro City (where my man DP was going to play) and EBC at Rucker Park (where Chris Brown was supposed to play). I finally thought that Pro City could be the best option to watch a kind of professional indoor tournament with guys who also play in the streets. Read More »
