Brandon talking like a panther before the draft…

Back is the latest installment of the Grime – For the G.O.A.T. – LL Cool J – you’re still Todd to me!

…Imagine if the Knicks could go back in time. Do you think they would draft Brandon Jennings or take David Lee, Chris Duhon and ride with first rounder Jordan Hill again and get funky with the pick?

Wanted to see the future of the “L,” so catching Nate Robinson’s first start against the player Bobbito dubbed “The Take Over” was a must see. Both are possessors of premium playground ball style with Nate showing his skills at EBC America in 2006 and Jennings earning the 2007 co-MVP at the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Game.

Robinson’s first start at the point yielded some solid results. He involved his teammates and got the rock to Lee, who ended with a season-high 32 points and 15 boards.

The Knicks were down five with a minute and change left in the third quarter when Nate hit the bench. Duhon came in with an immediate turnover, which led to a vicious one-step-inside-the-extended-dotted-line cram from Hakeem Warrick, and the Bucks were good money after that, extending the lead to as many as 13 midway through the fourth.

The three-time Rookie of the Month Jennings ran the pick and roll with ease for lay ups and directed the offense with the hawk eye.

Turk Ersan Ilyasova got his catch-and-shoot game in gear with several easy and open looks at the rim and finished with a career-high 25 points and 9 boards. Most of his shots had no hand in his face…

The Bucks (without Andrew Bogut, who got injured in the 1st quarter) looked a lot smoother in the five-out system than the Knicks in the second half. The Final Result: Bucks 114
Knicks 107

The stat game went to Brandon, who dropped 22 points and 8 assists while taking a game-high 23 shots. Nate scored 13, scoring only two in the second half to Brandon’s 19. Jennings changed his shoes from an all black pair to some white and red Under Armour joints at halftime, saying after the game that he “couldn’t make no shots with my first [pair] on. I think it was the shoes.”

When D’Antoni was asked about Jennings’ performance during the post-game interview session he froze up for a sec and then said “He’s good, a good little point guard.”

While I’m Nate’s man 50-grand, round one of this match up went to Brandon, and when D’Antoni hits his pillow tonight, I’m sure he would love to dream about a team with Brandon in a crispy white Knicks uniform coming off a pick and roll with a purpose and the explosive Robinson coming in off the bench on a search and destroy mission for buckets.

A fast break featuring LeBron and Jennings….pure playground…but who are we wanting to see the future of the funk since the big dunce cap can be evicted from the dome piece of Knicks brass with a 2010 summer pick up of LeBron, Chris Bosh and a trade for someone like Utah’s Paul Millsap straight up for Lee, and then an illegal search on the Timberwolves for Ricky Rubio, or a second round point guard choice of someone like Sherron Collins or Edgar Sosa from Louisville (no joke when given the green light), which gets the crowd jingling next year.

Do you wanna see it, Do you wanna see it…?

sean! nice, man, in puerto rico and out the loop to was a joy to read this and get smoe ill flavor. ej the mayor gave brandon the nickname ‘takeover’ in ‘07. brandon was also a co-mvp of elite 24 in the debut year 2006. pee wee kirkland told me he once changed his converse chuck taylors halftime of a game at milbank back in the ’60s and went on to score some ridiculous number like 50 or something just in the second half! dag, yo!

  2. Kenny Patt says:

Knicks are kicking themselves for passing on Brandon. We are not getting Lebron either.

  3. Sean Couch says:

Why not Kenny? LeBron, Bosh, and a shooter mimics the Boston move a few years ago. New York City will open the corporate vault like never seen before for LeBron James. While he gets big money in Cleveland, NYC still has the shine that no other place in the world can offer.

  4. kenny Patt says:

I hope you are right Sean. Cavs are just looking So strong that he May be. Tempted to return if They make make the finals & lose in 7.

  5. illest says:

why would lebron want to come to a losing team and an organization that has been a disgrace the last 10 years? boston added two hall of fame players and was already a decent team. the knicks havent been decent in years.

  6. Sean Couch says:

LeBron gives the Knicks instant creditability like Jordan gave the Bulls back in the day and again, the corporate opportunities here are like no other place on the planet.

Bosh, Lebon and Joe Johnson seals the deal in New York and makes the Knicks an immediate contender. A few trades such as David Lee for Paul Milsap, despite Lee’s All-Star selection and a package of Harrington, Hughes and Jordan Hill or Nate Rob for Jerryd Bayless and Dante Cunningham would be a start.

or Harrington, Hughes and Hill and a future number 1 for Ryan Gomes and the rights to Ricky Rubio would be a great start.

  7. illest says:

indeed he gives them instant credibility as he would give any team instant credibility. he gave the cavs instant credibility. plenty of cavs games have been shown since he entered the league just like the bulls were shown more when mike entered the league.

  8. Sean Couch says:

So McGrady a Knick! We’ll see if the Knicks can pull it off and get LeBron or Wade and Bosh.
