Amara Sy lands in Spain overseas / Jan 24, 2010 / 7:54 pm

Maybe the best French streetball player of all time (don’t forget Mo’ Sonko) signed a contract with CB Murcia this week. Everybody remembers Sy beating cats like Erron Maxey and Junie Sanders to get the crown at L.A. in the Nike Battleground King of the World. Since that day, Amara has played in France and in the D-League, searching a spot in the League.

Amara won with his team, La Fusion, the last two chips of Quai 54, the well-known asphalt competition in Paris. Now, in Murcia, he will try to save the team in the Spanish top league, ACB. His mission started well with a spectacular win today against Fuenlabrada, and Amara played 11 minutes with two points and six boards. The mission to save the season for Murcia is a little bit nearer. Good luck, Amara!

Ps: Those AJ6 Carmines are nice…

didnt he win the nike battlegrounds like 6 yrs ago? and this dude is official for wearing carmines in a game (nobody has done that in the nba)

props to amara, seen him play personally at quai 54 in ‘05 and he absolutely dominates outdoors on defense and offense. how good is the spain league though? i find it interesting that guys like darren phillips, amara, quinton hosely, andre barrett, etc. who have had serious looks in the nba go to acb adn don’t even dominate. says a lot about that country’s level of competition i guess.
