COREY FLUSHES IT DOWN FOR TWO!
I just got the word from an inside source that Corey “Homicide” Williams’ contract with K1X has expired, and he is now a free agent on the prowl. The Bronx representative is currently playing in the NBL down in Australia and is fifth in the league in scoring and ninth in rebounding.
“I have nothing against K1X, and I thank them for putting me on the map. I really appreciate what they have done for me,” Williams said.
Who will be the next sneaker company to pick up on the man who was once called the EBC’s most dangerous player?
What happens to K1X from here on out? You can’t market a bunch of dunkers forever. I can’t imagine anyone wearing a pair of T Dub’s. Maybe it’s time to shell out a shoe for Ryan “Special FX” Williams. He does deserve it with the performance he put on this summer.

Pony should sign this guy. They’ve been trying to make a comeback, and appear to be failing. Not that he would save the brand, but Pony’s legacy began at the Rucker,as did his. Might be a nice marketing connection.

LOL come on son homicide signed for a sneaker deal at this point it would have to be a brand like and 1, starbury, payless(not trying to be funny) or companies like that because adidas, nike, etc have no interest or he can re-up at k1x

Russ, that’s a real good point!

El Guapo says:
that is a dope point Russ M.
the problem with PONY is that the guys running it are in SoCal with no connection to the streets or the ball-playing public whatsoever.
they need new blood that knows the game and the business of the game over there before they can try to replicate what k1x tried to do here and throughout the country.
At least with the boy cesar, k1x had a former ball player and a dude respected in the boardroom and on the courts. Pony def doesnt have anyone like that at all.

K1X had a chance to do some good things with him but they dropped the ball. They are finished, im sure Cesar is somewhere plotting to put a finishing blow on them soon. @ Elliot, Homicide is way more known than half of the players in the NBA and he is a star during the sneaker companies busiest season (summertime), how do you think he got a deal in the first place, it wasn’t for his good looks and charm, haha He has value in this AND the Australian market. He will get another deal

lets keep it real, K1X and 187 helped each other out, but it seems like 187 will have the last laugh because his legacy will live on and K1X will be like Dada and other brands who tried to ride the wave and wiped out.
BTW, im sick of hearing about CESAR!! Where is this dude?? He was M.I.A all summer after being everywhere the year b4 (wack). I’ve heard everything from him being at Peak (Ron’s shoes), Under Armour, Nike and that he was helping T-Mac rehab all summer. Can Bounce get an interview with this dude to clear up all the rumors?? I’m sure he and 187 will land in the same spot.

Courtney Castro kinda reminds me of 187 (not as good and way different personality) in the way he is taking a different path to possibly carving out a lucrative niche basketball career that started on the blacktop.

Elliot Rosado says:
@ Tru Balla, Why do you think K1X flopped? Cause Homicide was there endorser and you saying that he’s more popular than half the players in the N.B.A. Cut it out your killing me right now.
November 5th, 2009 at 2:57 pm
True balla says:
@ Elliot , I think K1X flopped for 3 reasons, they didn’t have $$$ to market on the level they needed too, they couldn’t make dope shoes, and they kept trying to bring their wack euro-style into the U.S. market. 187 was pretty good for them if you ask most people

He can talk to Karl Malone about getting that LA Gear paper…..
Don’t think Big 3 shoe companies are in a rush to sign someone who plays in Australia, no matter how successful he is down there.

first things first, K1x’s only hopes of being viable in our american markets died when they parted way’s with cesar .. i mean heads was calling him “Mr.K1x” im seeing dude at the red carpet events with Kix gear on basically becoming the biggest of not one of the biggest marketing assest they had , but maybe they didnt see that .. so now you part ways with the guy that’s basically buying u a hood pass or earning you lucrative amounts of street cred , and your product ie. ur shoes and apparel hasnt earned the trust of your consumer base to the point that they gonna fuck with you if cesar isnt on board; i personally know mad ballers that was willing to econsider Kix as relevant on the strength tht they knew cesar and were fans of 187 .. so if u lose them two you bound to fail in the urban markets so that being said K1x is pretty much lookin down the barrel of a loaded gun as a company .. buts thats my opinion tho.. as far as 187 i could see one of the big three dealing with him only because he so relevant to their consumer base i mean dude is a beast .. his game is what shoe comapnies stand for so i can see it happening .. as far as cesar lol the guy is a enigma ive heard that he was working at the nba offices then the next day he’s at G-unit offices cooling with fif ..u cant never predict the movement s of guys that smart … 50 cent b4 i self destruct cop that nov 09″
