Representing New Jersey: The kid the announcer called “The Need for Speed” (Chris Myers of Hackensack High) was well deserving of the nickname. He played smart and definitely a rising star. He has an eye for the court…a true sign of a great guard. He is someone to keep an eye on.

I brought my son,who is an 8th grader, to watch the NJ-Conn game. NJ team was too strong. The kid out of St. Anthony’s, Jordan Forehand, had a great game. Don’t know how he was not MVP.

Saw the games at baruch alot of young talent. The frosh game was good. Forehand played well but alot of garbage baskets at end and was fouled numerous times and got to foul line where point totals added up. The big kid manny had a nice game and the kid Sina just made everbody else better. The choice for mvp was well deserved for the big kid and Sina. They were big when the game was in its peak moments making free throws down the stretch.

That boy Sina is nice!!! Hits the tre and really handles the rock and passes. MVP could have gone to the big boy, sina or Forehand. I agree with Ace. The difference was the other two was involved in game during it’s peak. But don’t take away from Forehand he did play well.

All kids played well. here it is you decide. Forehand 22 points 2 rebounds 1 assist 1 steal. Sina 20points 10 assists 3 steals. Manny 21 points 10 rebounds 4 blocks. You can make a case for all three for mvp.

Jamal says:
Bballer2626… You are correct with your comment… It was Jordan contribution at the foul line that kept his team ahead… Although there are good/great players that represented NJ, when players are selected for MVP, one should look at not only the points the player received but the individual’s entire contribution. Jordan played very well and included his team members… UNLIKE the guard who received the MVP… During the second half Sina made the game all about him… And that Sina, is not what being a point guard is all about. Big Up to NJ!

Hmmm. Looks like some playa hatin here. I watched the game and Sina got everybody ivlolved. Forehand played well but I didn’t see any selfishness on the kid sina’s part. Parents relax and let these kids enjoy their experiences. Stop hating and support these kids. Mr stats has sina for 10 assists that to me is not selfish. Maybe I saw a different game than you jamaal.

NJ says:
I ATTENDED THE GAME AS WELL AND AS I SAID BEFORE THE KID RAMON GIBBONS BOUNCE #22 IS A HELL OF A BALL PLAYER, SO IS JASON BOSWELL. THESE TO KIDS PUT ON A PERFORMANCE AND WON THE MVP.

Jamal says:
I did not stay for the New York B vs. Boston game. I did hear that Boston won. Big up to Boston and the players that received the MVP. It was I’m sure a team effort, because they could not possibily have won it by themselves! Overall I would like to believe that all the players on EVERY team played well… It was a great experience and I’m sure the SMARTER player will learn from it, simply because they are “Rising Stars not Superstars” and even then there is still more to learn. Peace!

I agree that all three players Sina, Forehand and Manny were qualified for the MVP. I disagree with ace123 who said that Forehand’s points were garbage baskets. He was the one hitting the free throws down the stretch, 13 out of 14, when the Connecticut team was trying to make a run. Most of Sina’s points were in the first half. Secondly, Forehand sat out the majority of the second quarter when he got into foul trouble. Manny sat out a while with foul trouble also. Sina pretty much played the whole game. All three played well and should be great contributors to their high school programs.

Guys end this debate. These kids are all talented and hopefully will continue to work hard and get better. Who cares who won the mvp. Its a game honor that can go to any kid who plays well. Some pick it for points. Some for rebounds. Some for assists. All three of these kids and don’t forget the rest of the players contributed to a win. At the end of the day the win as a team is important. Should Forehand be considered absolutely. Any one of those three could have won the award.
