Puerto Rico endured a loss against Brazil in the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship title match last Sunday, yet still qualified for the 2010 FIBA World Tournament with the Silver Medal finish. PR’s Guillermo Diaz showcased his true abilities during the game. From shooting threes outside of the perimeter or showing his vertical from alley-oops by teammates, Guillermo made his presence known. The former Miami Hurricane led that school in scoring as a sophomore and junior, earning him the opportunity to be drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Why he isn’t still in the N.B.A. i don’t know. I loved him and Robert Hite. Guillermo was tough though. He has the Magette build and can play all 3 positions. I’m sure it’s a money & playing time thing. He’s definitely pro-caliber. He could help Chris Paul now.

Sure, I agree 100%. His success in the NBA was not as noticeable as the rest of his career, but anything can happen, he is still young.

He had an alley-oop once against Virginia Tech that was just…. I can’t even speak on it. I remember he was wearing the all black Jordan Retro X’s and while everybody else was going crazy, he had a look on his face like, “What’s the big deal? I do this all the time.” Man the thing that happened was that either he or his coach started having him try to play like a pg his junior year, when dude is a stone cold scorer.
