A few days ago, I stumbled across Complex’s Top 10 Nike Basketball Commercials. I thought I could do better. I present to you my top 10 favorite Nike Basketball commercials. Post your thoughts and tell us about your favorite Nike Basketball commercial.
10.NIKE RAYGUNS
I wish I had a pair of Nike Vince Carter Shox’s in the 7th grade. Nike was ahead of their time. A very underrated shoe!
9.”I AM NOT A ROLE MODEL”
Sir Charles said it best.
8.MR. ROBINSON’S NEIGHBORHOOD
They need to retro the Nike Air Force 180 Pump ASAP! The Admiral did receive some good treats.
7.NIKE AIR FORCE II
Simplicity is key.
6.I NEED SOME HELP!
KG+TD=Classic
5.MOSES MALONE AT WORK
Michael Jordan stole the blueprint from this man. It’s okay Mike, we still love your commercials. Pay homage to the originals!
4.MUCH RESPECT
I know I said Nike Basketball and not Jordan Brand, but last time I checked there is a Nike stamp at the bottom of every Jordan box, so it counts! Veteran showing the youngn’s some moves.
3.LIL PENNY GETS HIS BREAK
Complex’s choice was nice, but Lil Penny got his start here.
2.NIKE AIR JORDAN XI 100 FOOT RIM
The only way I could have these shoes was to steal my sister’s beat up pair back in 1995. What did you do to get them?
1.HOLYFIELD VS. PAYTON
My favorite Nike Basketball shoe and commercial of all time. They combined my two favorite sports into a genius commercial. Retro the Air Zoom GP!

Other favorite/notable commercials:
1) Vince Carter lighting up Rucker as “Dr Funk”.
2) Lebron’s Powerade commercial where he shoots full courts like they were free throws.
3) Shaq’s “Don’t fake the funk on a nasty dunk” Reebok commercial.
4) Patrick “Chewing” Snickers.
5) And some guy playing a pickup game naked for a health club spot. Hilarious.

I knew you were gonna say it Bobbito lol. Your in a lot of things, this should not affect out relationship lol. I had to choose 10 commercials that I was in awe when I saw. These are the 10. The freestyle commercial promoted the BB4 and other hackneyed shoes that I felt Nike slipped on. No shoe in that commercial can top the Penny 1, Jordan XI, Air Zoom GP, AFII, Vince Carter’s Shox, the list goes on and on.

@ Ramon – but the title of the article is top 10 Nike commercials, with that being said you have to include the Freestyle commercial in there. You cant hold it out because you didn’t like the shoe that was in the commercial cause it not about the product being sold but the commercial.
@ Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love – I’m with you on this one!!! On another note whats up with the 2 peice leg extra crispy??? That was onne of my favorites, have you been to busy or what????

40 Cal, good choice. I could talk about Nike commercials for hours! I had to choose 10 that I felt started a trend or just had sick shoes. Every commercial I posted, remnants can be seen now in Nike commercials. Like for the Hyperize, they took the Dr.Funk theme but it was an 80’s approach. Many serious basketball commercials now are modeled after Sir Charles and Malone. KG and TD’s commercial was a archetype for commercials with Gary Payton, Vince Carter, etc. like we seen in the late 90’s early ’00’s. We see a lot of simple basketball games like the AF II commercial. Jordan then modernized his grail status in the XVI, similar to what I think Kobe, Lebron and others will do after they pleateau. The Penny Commercial was an influence for Lil Dez. And my favorite commercial is just too sick of a concept. I have not seen a commercial in my opinion that can beat it.
