As we mentioned earlier today, this weekend is the best basketball weekend of the summer, and we here at Bounce wanted to extend an invitation to the 2009 Nike Tournament of Champions. This Saturday, August 22 at Goat Park (99th & Amsterdam), TOC brings together the winners of the four premier Nike summer leagues (West 4th, Dyckman, Tri-State & Pro-City) to compete for the City Championship. There is also going to be a high school showcase game featuring some of the best players in the metro area, so don’t sleep. Gates open at 10:00 AM and admission is limited, so get there early!

Just inquiring. Why would you limit the amount of spectators for one of the biggest events of the summer?DUMB. Last year I saw about a 100+ people turned down. TOC should be held at a different park that holds more people.

Also the court is way to small for a JV team. That’s not real basketball. It’s structured for the outdoor teams especially W4th teams due to playing on that size court. Every other year should switch from Gym to outdoor.

How is it that people were turned down that waited on line for hours with no communication??Meanwhile certain people who “had connections” were able to get their tickets ahead of time..Can this possibly be run a little better this year and inform the true streetball fan.

This Nike tournament of champions is all a fluke to make it seem like NIKE is giving back to the streets They pick the 4 teams from the tournaments that they sponsored and then host an event with limited spectators then make you stand on line as if Lebron or Kobe was playing no streetball vibe what so ever let’s keep it real what’s a streetball game without a nutcracker or letting the little kids shoot around during timeouts? I would never go to T.O.C. They are what’s the problem with streetball now. I’ll be at Watson Classic where i can enter the park with no problem and order my 2 Nutcrackers and have a good time and even watch the little one’s get it in during intermission. I’ll even go to Gunhill before i to T.O.C. and that tournament is horrible.
