(Monday, August 10th) They call him the “Don Corleone of Streetball.” In a match-up of veteran coaches, Bingo and his All-Stars battled James Ryan’s Prime Time in the first game of the playoffs for the Entertainer’s Basketball Classic for the summer of 2009. The score was neck and neck with each team exchanging leads throughout the first half. By halftime, the numbers did not lie: 44 even. Antawn “Anti-Freeze” Dobie and Yatta Gaines were going at each other in a duel. Both could not be stopped! Anti-Freeze relentlessly drove the lane and Yatta was on fire from anywhere beyond the paint. Mike “Optimus Prime” Glover, also known as “The Punisher” at the EBC, was a force to be reckoned in the paint. It seemed as if he grabbed one rebound for every two points! The difference for Coach James Ryan was high leaper Miguel “Miles Hi / Miles High” Millien. People have been saying that he had no mid-range jumper and his outside shooting could improve. PREPOSTEROUS!, RIDICULOUS!, ERRONEOUS! The kid looked amazing from mid-range and even pulled up for a three-pointer or two. With Miles High’s wet jumper, Gaines’ scoring tantrum and the team effort, Prime Time was able to pull off the upset get the well-deserved “W” by outplaying Bingo’s All-Stars, 100-89.

Statistics for the EBC at Rucker Park will be updated this week!

Whats up with Bingo’s squad??2 losses in 2 straight elmination playoff games??If I had to choose I’d say Tony Rosa’s squad gonna take the EBC Chip. But never count out Rah and Sean Bell.

No Cab Driver both games, No Kenny Satt on Sunday at Tri-State There just not all on the same page as a team.

  6. Casey Lee says:

I don’t know about the Cab Driver but Kenny Satterfield was playing yesterday at the EBC; he’s a quiet leader on the court–not always a scoring threat in his later years but definitely one of the more veteran role models.
