Say No Men’s 2008 Highlights aka – “Above the Rim” – WARNING –
One curse word in promo highlights.
Last March, Say No Classic founder Rod Smith passed away and left the 38-year-old tournament to his son David Smith and his partner Rhonda Windham. Rhonda was the first African-American woman to work as a GM for an American professional sports team, (WNBA’s LA Sparks), and she’s in her 19th year of handling the Classic’s Women’s High School and College divisions while David, a former D-1 performer himself, heads up the Men’s College division.
The summer of 2008 featured seven high 2009 NBA draft choices – First Rounders James Harden, Demar Rozen, Brandon Jennings, Austin Daye, Darren Collison, Taj Gibson, and the first pick of the second-round, Jeff Pendergraph. The Classic had 1,000 players try-out for only 260 spots in 2008.
For more information on both leagues see Men’s Say No Classic and Women’s Say No Classic.
