Quinton Hosley is playing with the Dallas Mavericks
in the Vegas Summer League.
Some of NYC’s premiere talent is taking part in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Quinton “T2” Hosley, who was featured on the cover of Bounce #15, is holding down a guard spot for the Dallas Mavericks and averaging about 7 points while connecting on 43% of his 3-point attempts through two games.
Smush Parker, who has been playing all over the city this summer and graced the cover of Bounce #5, is coming off the bench for the Toronto Raptors and putting up 7.5 points and 4 assists.
Former Virginia Tech star Coleman Collins, who plays with Dyckman up at Pro City, dropped 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds Monday while playing with the NBDL Select team against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Will any of these guys make an NBA roster next year?

Smush is finished as far as an N.B.A. player.

TP says:
Smush was lucky enough to be in the league he is nothing but a journeyman who thinks he is better than what he is.His cocky attitude is what got him run out of L.A. and his comments about Kobe being overated were just ridiculous. The guy was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time a few years back. This guy gets killed in every major tournament last summer.Remember what happened at Pro City last year??Nothing from Smush!!

I would tend to agree that the probability of any of the aforereferenced guys have a fleeting shot at making the “L”.
The lesson of smush Parker is that character counts and be appreciative of the opportunity bestowed.

Elliot Rosado says:
To be honest a lot of people use the term pro to loosely you sit and watch someone drop 40 in Tri-State or Hoops in the sun and you assume he should be in the league. Let’s be clear you have to defend in the N.B.A. or go home.

tp is lying says:
tp were you at the same pro city i was at last year i remember smush raining threes on everybody and doing his thing you kinda sound like a hater like smush hit you for 50 uptown or something

TP says:
Yeh Smush hit me for 50 at the Tri State last year.It was the game after he had 2 points playing against Bingo’s All Stars in the playoffs.Smush will never ever have 50 in a game on any level genious. But Yeh Smush did his thing against everyone…Were u intoxicated while watching him play??He is a scrub for what he thinks he really is.Anybody like him that takes the NBA for granted as he does for his type of talent level is a scrub. He called his Laker experience overated. What a piece of work…Smush continuously got destroyed by guys like Darryl Hill,Homicide and Andre 3000 Barrett.I didnt know raining threes makes u doing ur thing.Smush got exposed all over by Nike 1 last year so while u probably saw 1 game where he was on doesn’t mean he was doing his thing.HE had a terrible summer on the streets and failed to make the bouncemag.com list of top playground performers.

To each his own. I think Smush has shown he can play in the league, just one man’s opinion. People are quoting opinions as facts. Unless you have a direct source, do you really know what happened with Smush in that Laker locker room? Of course not.
Now was that a poor choice of words by Smush stating playing with Kobe was overrated? Of course it was, it shows immaturity, and a lack of humility. There is a pecking order on any team. Kobe is the show in LA, it starts with him and anyone on his team has to realize this. Hopefully Smush’s time out the league will teach him life lessons, let’s not just say the kid is an arrogant dick who doesn’t get it. Hopefully the people close to him are telling him things he should already know about this business. Many have laced them up in hopes of getting to the league and fell short. Count your blessings when you get them.

Attitude does count. That was one of my points in a blog last week. He’s proven NBA worthy talent wise, but not socially. He can still make a team if he comes in humble. He has all the tools and not to mention great size for a 1.

Methinks TP seems to knows what he was talking about.
Yo thats embarrasin…. Ex laker, goes to averaging 7 points off the bench in the summer league, yet even Brian Scalabrine manages to stay in the league. That must hurt, Smush.
