(Monday, July 6th) Prime Time’s James Ryan is one hell of a coach. When his team built up a 20+ point lead going into the fourth quarter, fans started to leave the park because of a predictable outcome. With 6:52 left, Evil Training became one hell of a TEAM! When the crowd was almost gone, announcer Boobie Smooth riled up the remaining fans as the barricades were taken down and a now tight game existed as it was a one point game with less than 30 seconds left. Evil Training had a chance at the end to put away a Cinderella ending to an amazing night but could not seem to find that magic slipper as a jumper with about 7 seconds fell short, and Prime Time held on for the slim margin win. For Prime Time, Lloyd Clinton had 18 points IN THE FIRST QUARTER and finished with 30 points for the night. Yatta Gaines contributed 16 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Brothers Malik and Marvin McCullough led the charge for the underdogs (Evil Training) with 14 and 24 points respectively. Almost identical statistically, each dished 4 dimes and snatched 2 steals with 3 boards.

(Tuesday, July 7th) After benching himself after the first quarter for the last game and refusing to play the rest of the game, the Black Widow served a one game suspension. He watched his Team Cam’ron fall behind behind by 18 points at halftime, 57-39 to Ron Browz sponsored Ether Boys and Coach Bingo’s squad of veterans and young talent. Washington D.C.’s Curt “Trouble” Smith was in the park for Team Cam’ron along with Harlem’s Adrian “A-Butta” Walton, Bronx’s Kareem “The Best Kept Secret” Reid, and Brooklyn’s Kenyatta Brown. Unfortunately, Team Cam’ron could not find an answer for Antawn “Anti-Freeze” Dobie and Mike “Optimus Prime” Glover. Anti-Freeze piled up 24 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and a steal. The young Glover put up 18 points by halftime and never looked back. He finished with 35 points and 14 rebounds. RIDICULOUS! Did I mention his highlight reel? WHOO! The veteran Kenny “Serious Satellite” Satterfield added a quiet 14 points and helped coach the young guys on the court to victory. On the other squad, Kenyatta put up 24 points, Best Kept had 17 points and 5 assists, and A-Butta contributed 15 points.

(Wednesday, July 8th) Another Wednesday meant the camera crew was present to capture the men’s games for MSG-TV. Everybody was looking well-dressed and ready for their close-up! After getting snubbed by the rain for their first two games, Danny’s All-Stars were happy to see the sun shining. Early on, Danny’s team looked fatigued with only six players and were down 17 points, 45-28, at halftime to Ron Artest’s Queensbridge crew, the Tru Warriors. This summer seems to be the one for comebacks as the starving six were hungry! Led by veteran Malloy “The Future” Nesmith, Danny’s All-Stars came back in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to a single digits with 3 minutes left. Danny’s team cleaned up on the boards and played team ball. Shabbie Stanley had 16 points and started the comeback with a three-pointer. A tray-ball by The Future tied the game at 88 and forced the game into overtime. In attendance at the game were: Rafer “Skip 2 My Lou” Alston (& family) who led the Orlando Magic to the 2009 NBA Finals, streetball family the Hosley’s with “Terminator” and wife, music artists Sadat X and Pras, Mike Bivins, and even a young rap group from St. Louis who performed between games.

(Wednesday, July 8th – GAME 2) When MC Boobie Smooth announced that Steve Burtt, Jr aka Mr. 68 for his record of most points at the EBC was going to be playing for DJ Webstar’s team, the crowd went crazy! Along with Mouse Wilson and Rob Hines, DJ Webstar’s team was going to be a problem! Low and behold, Coach Bingo had something up his sleeve too. Just listen to SOME of these players on his team, the Ether Boys: Anthony Glover, Mike “Optimus Prime” Glover, Kenny “Serious Sattelite” Satterfield, John “The Franchise” Strickland, Antawn “Anti-Freeze” Dobie, Cory “The Undertaker” Underwood, and John “Mookie” Thomas. WHAT?! That’s almost all five boroughs with players from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. Bingo’s team jumped out to an early lead–no surprise–and cruised to an 83-67 victory. Check out some statistics below:
