Defending champion PDG Queensbridge staved off a rally to win Tuesday night.
After a missed-shot and turnover-ridden last summer in which he was heckled relentlessly at Pro City, Memphis Grizzlies guard Marko Jaric seemingly would’ve received a warmer welcome at a Duke game wearing Carolina gear than on 68th Street and Lexington. Yet there walked Jaric onto the court at Hunter College Tuesday night, big smile on his face as if he was a singer performing in front of his home-town fans.
While Jaric was far from looking like an NBA star, the former first-round selection appeared more comfortable than he was last year, scoring 18 points to help lead Dyckman past Prime Time, 111-100.
New Jersey Nets forward Yi Jianlian showed great touch around the basket with both hands and paced Dyckman with 30 points. Donnie McGrath poured in 21.

Dyckman led 83-76 after the third and extended it in the fourth behind Jianlian’s inside presence and McGrath’s deadly shooting from distance.
Sundiata Gaines dropped 34 for Prime Time and Miguel “The Video Game” Millien added 22.
PDG Queensbridge vs. United Brooklyn
In the earlier game, Darryl “Showtime” Hill made his first appearance of the summer and scored 23 points as PDG Queensbridge defeated United Brooklyn, 113-107.
Hill’s former teammate at St. John’s Ryan “Special FX” Williams chipped in 19.
QB led 54-36 with 7:24 left in the second, but BK went on a 37-19 run over the next 12 minutes and took the lead on a Bobby Mahoney lay-up with 7 minutes left in the third.
With BK leading 99-98 with 5:30 remaining, Seton Hall guard Keon Lawrence spun home a tough lay-up to give QB the lead for good.
James “Stixx” Williams scored 22 points for United Brooklyn and former New Mexico forward Sean “Murda” Simpson added 21. Eugene Lawrence, who matched up against Hill—his former Red Storm backcourt mate—for much of this one, went for 18.
Pro City is set to continue Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

What time should a guy get to the gym to get into these games and does it cost anything? Coming to NYC in a few days and I really want to catch some of these games.

Trevor –
Gaines looked very good, reminded me a Jerry McCollough, former Pitt guard that has had a long overseas career and should have been an NBA 10-year pro.
Someone should have him on their NBA summer league team.

What Ive learned from Pro City is that the guys who played last year aren’t gonna likely show up making it of a lesser quality. There writing up about Marko Jaric meanwhile he barely got any run off the bench last year for Gold’s Gym?No Nate Brown,Marcus Williams,Brandon Jennings,Kenny Satterfield,Garnett Thompson,Homicide,Andre Barrett, and Headache so far who were regulars last year have made it a watered down league this year.Guys like Kenny Grant,Donnie McGrath,Yi and Gary Ervin are welcome editions this year but it is me or is Pro City not the same as last year?I thought it was supposed to be poppin already. It really hasn’t other than the day Bassy showed and the classic X-Men- Nike1 matchup.Tommorow should be good games but what we are really waiting for is Artest to arrive to bring Queensbridge to that elite level. In my opinion the top teams are Queensbridge,X-Men,NIKE 1,Gold’s Gym,and Dyckman in that order.United Brooklyn is allright if Bassy plays and primetime needs some more firepower as well as Uptowners.

ROBERTO says:
Brandon Jennings didn’t do anything last year in Pro City. He probably had 1 double figure scoring game, and had surprisingly few highlights for such an allegedly talented player. The guy talks a lot of shit on youtube, but can’t get it done when it’s grown man business in Nyc. NBA job aside, not having his bum-ass in the league increases the quality level.
