Rumble young Man, Rumble!!!!
Just 10 minutes ago, one of my great sources verified that Lance Stephenson has made a verbal commitment to the University of Cincinnati. The four-time PSAL champion, who has been taking hits from all angles from the press, looked like he would not be going to school this year due to all the trouble stemming from a pending sexual assault case pending, teams being afraid of his father’s presence, claims of him being payed from Born Ready TV and the so called visit to the Under Armour factory. Well now, how about we all just leave him alone and let him ball? Why try to destroy someone’s chance at a career before it even starts? I hope Lance has a great NCAA career and does not make the same mistake’s that some other New York phenoms have in past years by going one and done. Good luck, brother. You deserve everything that’s coming to you.

Preach my brother. Damn you’d think he’s a fugitive or something. Let him live. If the rule hadn’t been implemented he could have been thrashing in the league already. Born Ready. He’s bored against his competition. Brooklyn Stand up. You shouldn’t deny someone income oppurtunities. It’s sad basketball has such a age limit. Is is anything to do with race? LOL. Lets switch it up w/ tennis, baseball,& hockey. To be
@#$% rich & successful is a war in itself. Could help the Knicks right now. Then what. What if he turns around and proves everybody wrong. I hope we glorify just as readily as he was crucified for allegedly being Mike Tyson. Misunderstood and Misconstrued by Media. Like Michael Jackson and so. I’ve heard all the bad what about the good. Could he have been groped. Even if he’s innocent the damage has been done. Innocent people in jail are dead already? It’s a cold world and business so don’t hate the player hate the ? He’ll still bounce back and prove the naysayers wrong and bring respectability back to NYC.

If he stays on a straight and narrow path to success, then yes his future still looks bright…his dream of playing in the NBA could certainly be realized if he’s truly committed to putting in the effort and dedication required to play at the next level…however before he can do that he must first prove that he can develop the mental toughness, self control and self discipline on and off the court at Cincinnati…being away from home and the enviroment which he has probably felt most comfortable around his entire life will be a challenge…but it may also be the best thing for him at this stage in his young life…the talent is obviously there and I’m sure we all want to see our home town hero do well and make us proud by representing NYC to the fullest…it’s been quite a ride for him so far and for any kid entering college the transition can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming if you’re not prepared…he is clearly not your average kid or student as he now has more weight on his shoulder than he’s ever had in the past…so far he has proven that he can shoulder much of the burden as he carries the hopes and aspirations of not only his family and friends but pretty much the entire city…it appears that many people have a lot riding on his every move…some for harmless and leigitimate reasons…while for others it’s selfishly all about simply getting a piece of the pie…the older he gets the higher the stakes…so I hope he has learned from any past mistakes and really puts in the work to take full advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead of him…nothing would be more rewarding than seeing this kid we have all followed so closely actually make it to the league and become a true success story when the final chapter is written…I wish him well now and in the future!

Why Cincy? And of course he is going one and done. If he could go out of high school he would.

40 cal you hit the nail on the head, but if were all serious and look at Lance’s mind set right now, Born Ready wants young money. He is one and done and we all know it.

If you are a basketball head you wouldn’t say he is going to show out next year. Dude is in the toughest conference in the country. His team is not very strong and he will have to carry them on most nights. Chances are he does not dominate in the way a Mike Beasley did for one year and take his team to tourney. He could potentially end up in the NIT’s. If he was smart he would stay at least two years instead of bouncing because he may not even make it to the big dance. I’ve seen the videos, never seen him in person, but as talented as he is the Big East is UCONN’s territory, not to mention West Virginia, Sysracuse, Notre Dame with Harangody back and the always ready Nova and dude may have made the worst choice he could have made. Even Tyreke was smart enough to come to Memphis where he could stand out in an inferior conference. But maybe, he can help guide Cinci to the tourney instead of taking the easier path. Maybe it will build character. I guess this is all speculation.

I had the opportunity to see Lance aka Born Ready play the summer of 06 in the EBC and Kingdome Tournament. I have been following his career since then. I wish Lance the best of luck and blessings with his decision to go to college. Playing for a Big East school was a good choice. His family will get to see him play while he is at Cinci. The Big East tournament is held at the Garden. So he will still be able to come back to New York and see his family. Not only will get a chance to play basketball, but he will have an opportunity to further his education. I hope he will learn from his mistakes, and surround himself with positive people. I look forward to watching Born Ready in the college game. I hope he stays in college to better himself, the NBA isn’t going anywhere. Brooklyn has a lot to be proud of. Born Ready is so Brooklyn!!!

He’s been carrying teams his whole life. It’s going to be interesting. Don’t say he can’t do what beasley. He’ll have the ball in his hand 90% of the time and work on his 1 game. He could easily be better than Mayo. Might avg 35+ and win in the Best East. I hope there Non Conference is crazy so he could go nuts. Once you play w/ guys who are beneath your level it peaks your game. He def. has been bored these last few years. He’s going to be better definitely against men. Be Humble Lance and you’ll have the last laugh.

It’s interesting that so many ppl jump to talk about Lance pulling a “1 and Done” when B.Jennings has already proved that college isn’t a player’s only option/path to get to the NBA, if he so dreams. it’s also funny that no one mentioned him getting a degree.
There may be a lot more to it than just the easy road to the League. The kid just may want a college degree and an excellent opportunity to play big time basketball at a rebuilding program.
But like CCB said, it’s just speculation!

All NBA prospects are just one serious injury away from having the entire dream go down the drain. If I was in his situation I’d be heading overseas. Take the money, and run. Why not?

good luck lance. go ahead and prove all the naysayers and haters wrong. respect yourself, your family, your legacy and your future. don’t wig out, cause that’s what they want. and NY wants to see you on that D-wade type level. learn from steph’s missteps and just put in work, focusing on ball and self-growth, attaining knowledge, wisdom and understanding. time to come up young fella. do it the right way!
