The Lower East Sides first major tournament.
This weekend will be an amazing one at the Lower Manhattan Classic, the Lower East Side’s First major tournament. Make sure you’re out there ’cause I’ll be giving away two special-edition K1X Lower Manhattan Classic Tee-Shirts and one K1X basketball, good for indoor & outdoor use. The schedule below is our A division games, all of which are must sees.
Saturday 6/27
3:30 Wolfpack VS Diamonds, Big birthday shot out to Little Mookie.
4:30 Cardinals VS Canann
5:45 Ike’s Legends Vs Iced Tea, (this game features Bobbito, Me, Mr. Furley, Ike and Gordy Malone. There’s even a chance former AND 1 mixtape player Half Man Half Amazing will play)
6:45 Showtime Vs Youngunnaz. (Showtime is the the defending champion four of the last five years and the Youngunnaz were just reinstated to the league. These two teams have a history and this one should turn out to be very interesting.

lower manhattan classic goes down at e. houston and chrystie street, the courts right on the corner. you can see it from the street clear as day, can’t miss it. take the f train to second ave stop.
shout out to all the LES tournaments of years past, including the Cage down by Henry St., Ham-Fish (since ‘92, longest running), True Indeed @ Mazrick Towers (first time i got to play against hammer and ed ‘booger’ smith), east side sports @ 10th & D, and all the great ones who used to run hard at tompkins square park over the decades including my man joe skie, chip, cal lamb, wise, rahsan, manny ‘agua’ maldonado, paul ‘pr’ rivera, giz, preacher mike, on adn on and on . . .
