Justin Kittredge of South Boston is the new world record holder for “The Most Unassisted Free Throws Made in Two Minutes” after hitting 64 FTs in 120 seconds at Reebok International Headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts on May 14, 2009.

Kittredge, who founded the non-profit Shooting Touch organization in 2007, hopes his record inspires the children he mentors in private basketball clinics. “ By accomplishing this world record, I hope it will encourage the young men and women I work with at Shooting Touch, Inc. that they too can achieve anything if they set their mind to it. Basketball is an effective vehicle to teach our youth about a variety of valuable skills that can be used both on and off the court. With this premise in mind, I hope to grow our organization so more men and women benefit from the positive affects the sport can have on developing adolescents.”

That’s quite an achievement…but what does “unassisted” mean?

It means no other device, like a ball retriever, or any type of instrument used to help the ball get back into the hands of the shooter faster was used…

Ok, then he’s simply (well not simply) taking the ball from the ball rack and shooting it…got it
