“We used to go out and buy our own sneakers each season. With our own money. If they wore out, you’d have to buy another pair,” legendary Boston Celtics point guard Bob Cousy recalls. Then, in 1953, The Houdini of the Hardwood united with PF Flyers to assemble the Cousy Hi and Cousy Lo, the first partnership between a footwear company and pro ballplayer.

Earlier this year, PF dipped into their archives to bring the Hi and Lo back with labels, construction and brand markings analogous to the original pairs from ‘56. Specifically, both styles feature a canvas upper with metallic eyelets and a rubber midsole. Other ingredients added to this true-to-form recipe include the green “PF” emblem affixed to each model’s heel and a double stitched toecap that provided Cousy with the coverage necessary to execute his oft-mystical ballhandling feats.
A circular white/red/black “Bob Cousy All-American” logo is burned onto the collar of the Hi, which is available in black, cream, and an effervescent green colorway. The lowtop jawn can be had in an assortment of lifestyle schemes including grey/red/white, white/green/gum, and grey/powder blue/white.
