The Brooklyn Report has been circulating around the borough and around New York City. Thank you for the love ladies and gentlemen, ballplayers and lovers of the game. There are more things to come,so stay tuned. This past weekend was pretty entertaining and it went like this:
Saturday
The team I have been playing for since the age of 12, the Brownsville Jets, had game at George Greshwin Junior High School (I.S. 166) in East New York in the McMillian League. They were playing in the College Division (We are the Brownsville All-Stars in this league). Most of my teammates have graduated or still completing their coursework in college. Even though we are friends guys, we didn’t look like ourselves in some points of the game until my Uncle Chris called us “fake Brownsville Jets”. I can see Jocko on the sideline shaking his head telling us how to win the game. We started off well but then the lead was cut to 4 points. Besides that, we won the ball game by 16 points. You know how you’re watching a game and you vividly remember that one highlight you tell everyone on your block like 20 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here it is people:
The Highlight
Just image if you was there)
“Randy,he hasn’t shot a jumper all game.” my man J-Roc explained to me after the highlight that made the gym say “oooooooohhhhhhhhh!” It was a typical 2-on-1 fastbreak. My man J-Roc was the lone defender. The kid name was Courtney. He dribbling full speed on the break and J-Roc looked like he had the play covered. As Courtney approached the free throw line, he must have turned on his “Better Basketball Tape”switch because he used this fake pass that made my man J-Roc jump to the other side of the basket. It was all in one motion:Courtney did the fake pass, took two-steps, J-Roc jumped into the other defender and Courtney smoothly got to the cup for two points. I’m sorry Danny,Nate,Clyde and Joon, you guys had pretty good highlights but it wasn’t like Courtney’s.Also, J-Roc you started it.
Sunday
A couple of people from the neighborhood who I play basketball with decided to take a trip to Baruch College to watch the final regular season games for the Fireball Pro Game 2009. Primetime lost to Gunhill but the second game was all about a kid name Furley. I seen Furley play and trust me people,he’s a force around the basket and he doesn’t like when his defenders challenge him.He had a triple-double with points, rebounds and DUNKS!!! What I am about to try to explain to you, you might think I’m lying. Just ask the players who were on the court at the time: Antwan “Antifreeze” Dobie, Sundiata Gaines, and DJ Clue.
Role Playing:Furley is Vince Carter!!!!:
Furley caught the ball at the top of the key. He stared down the defender and literally jumped over the defender. The bad thing thing about it is, it was an And-1! The whole gym proceed to just remain speechless. The defender who was violated resumed into clapping the boards while the gym knows he is known for throwing it down who no cares at all. I am not going to say his name. Money Train lost as well. That was Money Train’s first loss. This Friday starts the playoffs at the Fireball Pro Game.Get there early!!!!!
Big Ups and Shout outs: Horse (Why did you call the dude “Swine Flu”?), Paco, LeQuan Castro (The Jumpman), Jerel Blassingame, Al Harrington (New York Knickerbocker),Jovon and Jacques for the playing in the hood with me this past Sunday (Lights Out!),Mark Henry (WWE Superstar; He’s going to teach me how to put people in the headlock), DJ Clue (You looked good on the floor man), 40 Cal (Good interview with Mookie), Rickey Rivers and the entire Funsport/Fireball staff, Edgar Burgos and the entire Hard 2 Guard Productions staff, ladies and gentlemen, ballplayers, lovers of the game and of course BRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKLLLLLYNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:
yo randy–you the second dude this week that’s told me I HAVE TO SEE THIS KID FURLY! I’ll be on the lookout. shout out to Horse no doubt, and to Rickey Rivers. Bounce had a squad in Fireball back in ‘03 or ‘04, and we got smacked left and right every game basically. my favorite moment though was Horse nicknaming me “Bag of Tricks” and then the next game I fell out the stands when Rickey was on the mic and called one of the players “Frozen Food Section!” that came out of left field, i didn’t even understand the joke but it sounded so funny i was rolling! haha
