701 St. Ann’s Avenue
Bronx, NY 10455
Bingo’s All-Stars and R2K will meet in the 2009 Hoops in the Sun Spring League Championship. As if the rivalry couldn’t get any bigger, they meet in another championship game. But will the outcome be the same? Bingo’s All-Stars has had R2K’s number over the past year, dating back to the 2008 summer regular season, followed by their epic battle in the 2008 Summer Championship Game and then continuing into their May 9th game in the 2009 Spring League regular season. R2K has been close but cannot seem to get over the hump called Bingo’s All-Stars.
R2K is no stranger to championship games, as they won the inaugural Spring League back in 2007 and played in the 2008 Spring League Championship before falling to Money Inc.
Bingo’s All-Stars steamed rolled through the regular season, while R2K had to win two big games down the stretch in order to qualify for the fifth seed. As many expected, Bingo’s All-Stars took care of business in the playoffs defeating Blax Ballers 108-98. Brooklyn’s own Jerome “The Fridge / The Circus” Holman led the charge for Blax Ballers. In the other semifinals game, R2K defeated the Untouchables, 91-89, in a nail biter where the Untouchables led for most of the game.
While R2K has regular season leading scorer, Dwight Hardy, at the helm, Bingo’s All-Stars are stacked with talent including: former co-MVP Kenny Satterfield, young phenom Mike Glover, and former St. John’s standout Anthony Glover.
There is no better way to determine the winner than to see it for yourself as Bingo’s All-Stars battle R2K in the championship of the Hoops in the Sun: 2009 Spring League playoffs at South Bronx High School!
