Growing up, Dwyane Wade evolved his game on the asphalt and in the dimly lit Richards High School gym in Robbins, Illinois, playing for hours in the stifling Midwestern summertime heat. His tireless determination and undying persistence helped him overcome academic issues at Marquette University, leading the Golden Eagles to the Final Four in ’03. DWade’s success has continued at the game’s highest level, where his tedious practice habits, unmatched skill set and poised leadership have merited five NBA All-Star Game appearances and the coveted NBA Finals MVP Award in 2006. In 2008-09, Wade has put on the bookbag, decimating would-be defenders with an assortment of chopped goodies and watery range that’s got Floridians proclaiming “WADE County” once again. He’s averaging 30.2 points per outing, which is tops in the league, and has transformed the undervalued Miami Heat from likely pretenders to unprecedented contenders. Through it all, Dee’s sported variations of his first signature shoe, the WADE 1. Converse reissued the shoe in black/white/red to celebrate their stud’s stat-stuffing season. The model hit Champs Sports locations last Friday is available in limited quantities worldwide.

Tech Breakdown/Extras:

-“.08” displayed on the inner heel reflect two of Wade’s game winning shots in his rookie and sophomore NBA campaigns.

-Dwayne’s jersey number “3” is displayed on the heel, eyelets, and tongue of the shoe.

-Vertical ventilation slits provide effective heat relief.

-EVA Sockliner and heel stabilizers offer an unmatched ride that’ll be perfect for Mixtaping your brother, sister, or grandmother on the asphalt this July.

-Multidirectional herringbone outsole provides court-sucking traction, sure to come in handy on D…if you like playing at the end of the court.

its amazing how the top three players in the league have the ugliest kicks. i dont like any dwades, james, or bryants. they should all just rock exclusive jordans. bryant best kicks were when he rocked the specialized jordan 8s and 3s.

Dwayne Wade should buy Conversse out and go to Nike. He reminds me of Dominique Wilkins when he had a sneaker deal with Brooks. Or Akeem olajuwon with Etonic and Karl Malon with L.A. Gear. The greatest players with the worst sneakers.

i think DWades trademark shoes are usually pretty grotesque…but the Wade 1’s were pretty decent…especially if you compare them to the shoes after the Wade 1’s…and illest…i would agree that Lebrons and Kobes signature kicks last year were on the ugly side..but their joints this year are nice..but that’s just my opinion…

I’ll take these over the Wade 4’s, which were pretty much the ugliest shoe released over the past couple years. Looking back, they actually do have a nice aesthetic quality. But that could just be due to the absolute horrible design of every shoe after them. Converse really needs to get back to the drawing board in regards to the look of his signature shoes. Even those Protoge’s look better!

Well, its not really about the shoes that you are wearing that increase you ability to play the game, Converse just want to show its appreciation to Dwayne Wade, with or without Converse shoes, Wade can still play he’s game and he’s really a good player, one of the best player or should i say, for me he is the best out there. He already proved during their Finals with the Dallas Mavericks!!

    Seven Duece-

Word. Wasn’t feeling the Wade 4’s at first, but they do have an interesting anti-aesthetic quality to them. I’ve got the white/black/camo. marble pair, but I did a double take when a guy at the gym broke out the black/white/red speckle pair earlier this week. Nice shoe.

To everyone: If you’d like to cop, go down at least 1 size. The kind folks at Cons sent me a size 13, and they’re pretty loose.

I have been looking for a pair of CONVERSE WADE LOW PLAY OFF 1.0 shoes for a very long time. THese shoes were the best basketball shoes I have ever owned and I need to find them for this season! I wore my other ones out, and I really want to find these. Preferably the white ones with the think black strip down the front of the shoe by the toes, but the black ones are sweet or eevn the gray ones. ANY ideas?!
