New York City Airmen coming in 2010

The National Street Basketball Association is a professional basketball organization that provides amateur and professional athletes with opportunities in basketball. The League will open up in New York on June 22 with the Pro-Ball Classic at 145th Street and Lennox running four days during the week – (Mon-Thurs). Expect players such as God Shammgod , Ron Artest and many more to represent in the new league. This year’s edition will be the first phase of a two-year plan to stock 6 teams to form a professional street league next year.

CEO Kim Champion expects 16 teams to participate in New York in this year’s Pro-Ball Classic. The other pro-ball markets are LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Texas and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Next year, players from the league will be selected to form a summer playground league with the hope of securing a major television partner.

The league also honored many of the men who laid the foundation for summer league ball in New York City. Among the honorees were John Isaacs(RIP), Amsterdam News columnist Howie Evans, Pro Rucker CEO Bob McCullough, Leroy Hendricks, former commissioner of the Whitey M. Young and presently, Senior Security Operations Manager for Major League Baseball, former Columbia University alumni and star Zak Husser, Artie Georges and several others.
