Some of them are good “local” streetball players, but none has the level to play in NBDL or PRO in Europe.
It’s just a question of choice, being a streetball entertainer or be focused on a pro career…you can’t do both…
Anyway they love streetball as much as we do…with this particular addiction to dunk.

what does the NBA have to gain from allowing this to happen? you think they want their players shown up by these guys? these guys aren’t nba players and the contest is reserved for NBA players. that should be the end of discussion.. these dunks don’t do anything for me by the way, i’m more impressed by in game dunks against good competition…2 points is two points, layup or 360 foul line through the legs windmill style

Maybe the first step would be to do NBA half times show to show the NBA crowd who’s dominating the dunk story right now. Once you’ve convinced all the Franchise heads about your “entertainment” abilities it will be easier to convince D.Stern.
I saw in Demetrius Hooked Mitchell DVD that back in the days, they were talking to introduce the dude on the NBA dunk contest thanks to Gary Payton…It didn’t happened because Hooked never showed up. But now NBA is a different business, just think to the numbers of white/red Tai Chi Mid And 1 sold after VC’s victory.
Maybe the suitcase men from the NBA would be more receptive to ESPN city slam’s people for such issues…just a question of TV audience & business.

They never asked a guy like James White to participate…

The NBA doesn’t even put in their best dunkers into their own contests nowdays. If guys like VC, Lebron, Kobe, J-Smoove dont want to participate, why would they accept guys like Guy Depuy.

They should just have like a big cash prize or some other kind of motivation, and get the best dunkers period (NBA or otherwise) into the contest.
