Ugh! The Latest / Dec 21, 2008 / 2:37 pm

Haven’t played ball since I injured my shoulder Monday and it’s killing me. I got stir crazy a little on Thursday. I have to keep resting it, though. It’ll get better. I know it will. It has to! Power of positive thought, right? As is with everything that we can’t figure out a reason for at first, being stricken to my crib has been a mixed blessing. It’s allowed me to go super-duper deep into researching and destroying all my upcoming articles for Bounce’s upcoming “Nuyorican Issue” #19 due out in February. I can not tell you how proud of it I am already, and what it’ll mean for myself, my people, and all others who may be unaware of the rich history of ballplayers both from New York and Puerto Rico. And the photos I’ve been able to track down are insane. I’d leave it at that, but let’s just say if you thought our “White Issue” #14 in Spring ‘08 was fire, and our “Rucker Issue” #6 in Winter ‘05 was bananas, well this one will be right up there with them! No te duermes!

Really, Really looking forward to the Puerto issue, bro! It’s gonna be insane.

And get well–I know the feeling. I’ve had a moderate case of tendinitis for the past five weeks, so I’ve gone from playing 6 hours a day at school to sitting glumly in my room, shooting the ball at my ceiling. Got together with a few of my old friends for break, and won four-out-of seven games of 21…on one leg and free throws! Hope to get back healthy by the end of January! I’ve got some new shoes to play in…
