Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:
antonio! you beat me to it! i had the write-up below scheduled to publish tomorrow morning:
A couple of nights ago, Bronx native Corey “Homicide” Williams, who has terrorized NYC’s summer leagues all decade, caught a mean one on Australian Olympian Glenn Saville, who is 6′7″! Hom finished with 23 points, eight assists, and three steals in the W. He wrote, “My bounce is back; plyometrics really work, mate!!!” I’m hoping he really doesn’t talk that like that now, even though we realize he is really enjoying playing in Australia’s NBL pro league for his second season . . .

Mr. K1X says:
this summer is gonna be intersting. we got a new approach. since there are no more veterans to get at, Hom is goin at the young dudes. so all those college cats better stay on campus!!

Sean Couch says:
that was quick…

Kobe24 says:
Homi im from New York and you a legend out here, but there’s some young cats that might be abel to get at ya neck…… I’ll be watching
December 17th, 2008 at 2:15 am
Mr. Dimes says:
Kobe24, do you honestly think he cares you’re watching?
Stop pretending and start practicing. Herb.

Antonio Gil says:
hahahahaha, so sorry Bob! I didn’t know that you had a post ready to publish…

funkalot says:
Congrats to Corey. He is easy to root for given his personality and skills package. I did not know he had “dummies” like that. For real, has anyone watched Hom catch a similar bang on someone during the summer?
Plyometrics do work, along with speed drills/training,on increasing hops. Check: Sparqtraining.com and YouTube for
skill and drill work.

Elliot Rosado says:
Homicide aint got nothing for these young cats out here. A lot of them think he’s overrated. And the college competition is probably tougher than what he’s facing in Australia. Ask him what happened at Hoops in the Sun when he faced R2K and there young team. Brian “Big Baby” Williams (Tennesse) Justin Burell (St. John’s) Geddies Robinson 35pts (Jacksonville State) Nick Murphy (Jacksonville State) Lock down.

Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:
i keep hearing about nick murphy and am dying to seeing him play, he supposedly killed at gun hill, too. but honestly guys, corey is a vet at this point, and to say he’s overated is ridiculous. if anything, he’s underrated, total opposite spectrum. his jumper improved, and when he plays nba talent he gets three times more vicious. i’ve never really seen him cuff it on nobody, so if he got uppers in hit heels now, c’mon–who is gonna stop him, and he just doubled his ability to keep you on lock too. don’t forget, he’s known for defense, too
December 17th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Antonio Gil says:
I’m agree with Bob. Corey is underrated. When I watched him play last summer at Nike Pro City (against Nike One) he hit 46 easy!! I think he could play in the League for sure. Hands down.
December 17th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Randy Millard says:
Nick Murphy is good on both ends of the court.Him and Geddies Robinson had fun against my institution of higher learning.
December 17th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
Casey Lee says:
Corey Williams is THAT DUDE — PERIOD. Best in NYC and it looks like he’s making a point of being the best in Australia!
Sure, the young cats have some spunk but give Homicide some credit, he has been CONSISTENT. From NBA players to players on the blacktop and now we’re seeing him dominant international waters (as seen from above…literally for Glenn Saville, ABOVE, haha)
December 17th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Mr. K1X says:
for the record –
i was at that game at the Baychester CC against R2K. they played a zone like it was AAU and he still ate. ask Joe Cruz for the stats. in my opinion the only youngn that has killed the big dogs is Mike Glover, but the summer is 6 months away so we shall see. there is always a surprise plyer.
@bob – nick murphy can go, this summer will be big as far as seeing if he can kill real dudes in real leagues.
December 17th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Elliot Rosado says:
K1X, If you was really at that game keep it real. He had an off game. And he was exposed on defense. The kids kept clearing it out all day. He plays no defense. And yeah ask Joe Cruz for the stats because i made sure to let him know right after the game. And like i said the comp in Austraila is trash. I know that for a fact.
December 17th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Mr. Dimes says:
Rosado,
So even if these kids had a great game against him, they’re now ready to take his spot? He’s been killing for the past 6 summers wherever Homicide has been at. These young kids should have the confidence that they’re better than him, thats the nature of competition. But the only two dudes I saw play at 3 Top Tier tournaments in the same day were Hommo and Ron Ron (and yes they killed at all three tournaments).
That doesn’t count for anything? get a blood transfusion for all that hate you got in the veins homie
December 17th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Elliot Rosado says:
Mr. Dimes, There’s no hate here. I’m just speaking the truth. Nobody wants his spot. These young dudes like winners. That’s why these young kids love Kareem Reid. He puts up numbers and he wins chips. I will take “The best kept secret” over “Homo” anyday. Your boy didn’t even make the playoffs at Pro city enough said. Not to mention these kids been putting up numbers since highschool. Nobody even heard of him on the highschool scene. And out of the 3 top tier tournaments, he won none. When your man starts winning chips then we can talk. By the way look out for Dwight Hardy (St.John’s) another kid on the come up.
December 17th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
Casey Lee says:
Rosado,
Just to correct you on Kareem Reid, its changed from
“The Best Kept Secret” to “Big Game” now because he’s not a hidden gem anymore, people know Kareem!
**As for Homicide’s ‘not winning chips:’
-I don’t think its fair to say that just because Big Game has more chips until his belt, that he is a better player than Homicide. Think: how did Corey Williams get his name?
-I think Homicide is a better player but when you go back and acknowledge people, winning is crucial. People think of success in terms of championships won.
Ex. Jordan, Shaq, Bill Russell, Wilt, etc.
(Streetball circuit = Fat Joe w/ Terror Squad players)
December 17th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
E says:
homi is good he gets buckets against pros etc. but next summer i wanna see this attack on the young boys cause next summer alot of the youngins are gonna be looking to get theyre name up lets see if homo gets at the youngins or if they work homi out and tell him the old heads run is over
December 17th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Mr. Dimes says:
fellas, Hommo’s overseas seasons for the past three years have all started by the time the playoffs roll around for each and every of the top city tourneys. Any of us that follow the summer leagues know this. And yes Big Game has been winning chips since forever but if you want to stick to your original argument of young guys killing Hommo then you have to acknowledge that both Hommo and Anti-Freeze Dobie KILLED ‘Reem at TWC on 119th this past summer in regular season play.
December 18th, 2008 at 11:05 pm
Mr. K1X says:
i love it!!!!
half of these “young” cats wont even be around in few years when they start gettin a steady paycheck and a nice piece of ass, lol
as far as the high school scene, who cares!!! 80% of the the high school hotshots nowadays (shit is weak) never pan out in college when they see real comp.
look up the high school stars for when homi played, not one his own shoe in Foot Locker right now, hahaha

187 says:
this is beautiful. it really is.
what i love, is the talk ive created from what ive accomplished in my career.
ive literally come from nothing to being the hottest and best dude in streetball, not streetball in nyc but streetball period.
if u look at many of these guys, they jump on teams which are already stacked with talent so their chances of winning are even greater. they could never carry a team with b and c level talent because they cudnt.
if u watch the teams ive played with over the years ive jumped on teams with b and level talent because thats who i am, i wanna play with the underdogs simply because no a level player wud ever play with them, and that was me years ago when i started.
as far as chips, that isnt easy to do on any level.
is lebron wack bcuz he has no chip.
does this mean he’s not the best player in the nba?
is steve nash garbage bcause he has no chip?
no, but he’s still the best pg in the nba.still 2time nba mvp and did that over 33years old, why because is proven and has been doing it for a long period of time.
all im saying is sum of the best players in the world, wil never get a chip, dont mean they were not a great player
barkley, stockton and malone, won all their careers and no chip, ur going to say they arent great???
1.im never home at the end of the summer bcuz i have a job overseas and i leave early
2. when i was home, i lost in pro city chip last summer, watson chip in summer 07.
this summer austrailia finished 6th in the olympics and sum blogger says the austrailian leage is trash??
i can guarantee you he dosent even play basketball.
im making 6figures in 6months
a sneaker being sold all over the globe
currently on the cover of HANDLE MAGAZINE which is the biggest hoop magazine in austrailia, out in january.
And young cats,i wont even dare discuss, none of them could dream about doing what ive done and how ive done it, straight from the park and got all this shit!!!!
as far as the bloggers, like mr.k1x said, just because they are good now, dont mean they gonna be good later.
because that nyc class who came out with me, im better than them all.
thanks for the love and support as always
bx all day

Elliot Rosado says:
Mr K1X, You couldn’t give your sneakers away. I guess that’s why you don’t have no love for the young ballplayers.
December 19th, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Mr. K1X says:
i got love for the young ballers and all ballers for that matter. thats how we roll at k1x, its all about the ball. not jock riding other ppl and brands that do their thing. we all play ball, we all get money and we never hate. we in the game, not on the sidelines.
its only january and look what i started, haha. its gonna be a good summer.
December 19th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
Mr. K1X says:
btw, a couple of my favorite players i NY r young. mike glover and jiggie
@bob, rosado
whor are ur top 3 youngn’s i got
jiggie
mike glover
d. hardy
honarable mention
kemba, cabbie, that kid Fish from brooklyn ( he killed @ Watson), 300 (greg)
December 19th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:
jiggy josh is from juco this week, my man told he looks slimmed down and more chiselled. that’s a problem as he was already lightning on oil to the well. if he ever develops long range, i honestly think he has a shot at getting a great check as a pro.
i think fish is from harlem. i played one on one against like 4 summers ago in morningside park. neither of us knew who each other was, just going hard trying to get a workout. i beat him by 1 point, and highly doubt i could do that now that he’s gotten a little older and wiser. yes, he killed at watson, looked very in control. i’ve seen him in ohter tournaments were he wans’t as dominant. still developing but one to look out for.
kemba is a class act. love his game, and he has the personality to really win over nba gms so i think he’ll be a sure shot when he’s done at u conn.
