On the dribble and in the park to the bucket, it’s off to school we go…
The dribble-drive is the dominate offensive movement at the top college programs
in the country. So now, who can make a move in less than 2 seconds, get in the lane
and create offense? Some kids stand and dance, that’s AND 1 good, some run and stun, that’s high school to college D-1 better, but the crisco-to-go in 2 seconds or less
is NBA playground best. The 8-0 UCONN Huskies cook like that. They are the number #2 ranked team in America with four guards that have the ability to go at you with speed. Craig Austrie, AJ Price, Jerome Dyson, and Kemba Walker give UCONN the best backcourt depth in America. The dribble-drive style that the program emphasizes is why playground-tested Kemba Walker is looking liking a vet and showing signs of quick NBA readiness. He has the presence of one of my favorite NBA “game-on-the-line finishers” – Ben “Ultra” Gordon. If you watch the highlights of UCONN’s 2004 Semi-Final championship game versus Duke, check the up-tempo playground style of the game and see why Walker is going to thrive in the UCONN system.
Ben “Ultra ” Gordon and the rest vs Duke
Kemba has enough speed to finish against bigger and longer players, the rachet to
stick the three, and the handles to exploit defenders who aren’t sound. Big ups to all
the colleges who come out and watch the future at all our parks across the country.
Kemba Walker, the second highlight.
Don’t sleep on the other UCONN guards. Over the next few days we’ll take a look at Austrie, Price, and Dyson.

fake GM says:
Kemba walker is very solid on only going to get better. When the keys are handed over. He’s a legit pro.

Sean Couch says:
Kemba will be very solid in tournament play for UCONN. The team focus on speed should give them an advantage throughout their season. Kemba is the quickest to the basket out of the three guards and a tough defender also.

they kinda remind me of the villanova team a few years back that if it wasn’t for a bs traveling call on allan ray would have knocked off eventual champ unc..the team with ray, lowry, nardi, foye

wow this is a great post i seen Kemba play before in person at Tri-state classic for the terror squad like2 summers ago and in other games as well alot of people especially Uconn fans compare him to ben gordon. i agree that he’s gonna be a legit pro in the future and the same time i doubt he’s a one and done at Uconn and that can be benefical to his game if he stays another 2 or three years
is it just me or there is a kind of rivalry between Big east schools and duke especially Uconn because i was 10 when they won the national championship in 99 against duke as well as the final four game in 04 i watched something on NBA TV about ben gordon he was talking about how he always wanted to play for duke but duke lost interest in him because he played horrible in a HS tournament game in front of coachK i think that 04 game was away for Ben gordon to redeem himself against coach k but overall The Uconn team back then was dangerous and so is this one.

fake GM says:
The BIG EAST any day over the ACC. The ACC is top heavy. Any team in the big east could play or beat a top 25 team. Every year there 1-8 sometimes 10 can be a fight for your life. Big East(East Conf. Nba, Public School) ACC(Western Conf. NBA, Catholic School). The Acc group is politically correct. The Big East is the grind it out blue collar workers.

Sean Couch says:
I think UCONN is better than Duke if both teams play man-to-man, but as Gonzaga demonstrated, UCONN doesn’t have the shooters that Duke has if a zone is played. I think North Carolina might be better than UCONN now, but UCONN down the road is the better team. The Big East right now has better top to bottom talent than the ACC in my opinion so i agree with fake GM…
