Tim Gittens is an original AND 1 member and one of the most popular figures in Streetball history. The 8-minute video above – “Street Ball Confidential,”- is a real strong educational mix on standard trick moves. He starts out with the move called the “Matrix” and demonstrates five others showing them in game situations. The music and instruction are geared to get your rhythm emphasizing reps, so don’t get frustrated if you can’t get it at first. After a few viewings you should see some results.

mad love to headache. he’s doing some very illegal moves in the demonstrations, but viewers should know that he’s very capable of switching up and doing it officially, as he’s been a pro in iran and puerto rico in the last couple of years, as well as getting a couple of nba looks which never panned out for him, but gives you an idea of his ability.
when he does that chest roll, it reminds me of the first time him and i ever played against each other in the mid-’90s, way before the and 1 tour and dvd. his team was blowing mine out in the ray diaz tournament on 101st St. and Amsterdam, and he did that move on me. it became so embarrassing that the refs called the game! there was still two or three minutes left. funny thing is that years later, i heard him give me a credit in an interview as being someone he watched when he was younger and got inspiration from. that reallly bugged me out and i don’t even know if i deserved that, but nonetheless shows you the level of class he has that he’s not often credited for having.
as for the i’ll be right back move, definite shout out to little irv. when and 1 shot the game in linden, new jersey, for what would become the AND 1 mixtape vol. II, i remember distinctly being invited to dj and suit up to play if i so choosed. i was considering it since i knew pretty much all the players and had their respect, but when i saw ‘i’ll be right back’ do that inside hand change behind his back . . . whaaaat?!!! people have gone nutty with freestyle in the last couple of years, but you have to remember the time frame and what that move represented. it was unseen and unheard of. i had seen Future’s homeboy trying it unsuccessfully in a celebrity game we had played in at canarsie hs, but when i saw irv pull that out, i felt unworthy to run. i didn’t have anything in my repertoire at that point as fresh as that, and i considered myself flashy for that era. i regretted for years not playing, who knows what would’ve become of my career had i caught a highlight or two that early in the game . . . they put a clip of me doing a pass on vol. 7, then i played in the first mixtape tour visit to puerto rico in 2006, but by then it was different. still satisfying, but different. headache, shane, i’ll be right back, skip, alimoe, etc. — they all changed the way the world looked at dribbling. massive props to all they did, and still do.

Shout out to Harlem’s finest aka Tim “Headache” Gittens.
I’ll never forget when Mark Edwards was in Chicago on the Mixtape Tour and said:
“He got his nickname by shaking Skip 2 My Lou…the crowd ran on the court…and the announcer said, now you got a HEADACHE!”
Here’s a clip of Headache in the ABA recently:

It’s a little known fact that Tim is an excellent defender as well. I’ll refrain from any hoop memories he and I share because this isn’t his obituary but I will say that on the break Tim probably changes direction without breaking stride the fastest I’ve ever seen it done! and on the floor I’ve always told him he doesn’t need moves because his dribble speed and footwork are two times that of the average elite player!!!!

Tim is a tremendous on the ball defender who lost a bit of his flair when he hurt himself a few years back. Last summer he had a solid comeback and it was good to see him back as himself again.
