On September 25, 2K Sports hosted the NBA 2K9 Release Party in Manhattan. As the video game’s dunk contest mode announcer, I was asked to come down and do interviews, DJ a quick set, and parlay. There was a quick competition between cover man Kevin Garnett vs. Rajon Rondo and Andre Iguodala vs. Brook Lopez. When Rajon “Rondo’ed” KG, I said on the mic, “Oh, I guess we gonna have to take Garnett’s face off the cover now!” and Kevin flipped his head back and roared out in laughter. He’s mad cool, yo. For real. They previewed TV ads featuring him and his boys, and just like the adidas Brotherhood spot we had on our site yesterday, the NBA champion power forward from Chicago/South Kakalak shined.
Enjoy this year’s edition and let me know what you think of the dunk contest mode. This time round they hooked me with a better outfit, more baggy Kool Bob Love steez, ya tu sabes! In 2K8, my gear was looking young! Ha ha!
That’s me spinning some heavy funk breaks. Rock Steady Crew President Crazy Legs me dijo, “Yo, let’s get out there and start a circle!” to which I was down for but I only had 7″s which are all edited short so it was no haps. I don’t think he wanted me to burn him in front of all the NBA dudes, anyhow! Ha ha!
I talked to the crowd about how the dunk contest in 2K9 takes place at Rucker Park, and how that hallowed ground plays such a great significance in any playground ballplayers’ existence. Word up.

i’m a die hard mets fan.. recently, the mets-phils rivalry has been in full effect.. gotta rep my team baby paw.. as much as i love basketball and even football, to me, there is no greater sport than baseball.. 162 games, over 6 months and its every day.. what a beautiful sport!!
