Cory Underwood at the free-throw line at West 4th this summer.
Yahoo Sports is reporting the Philadelphia 76ers have signed free-agent forward Cory “The Undertaker” Underwood.
Underwood spent the ’07-’08 year with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds of the NBDL where he averaged around 6 buckets and 3 boards per in 36 contests.
The Undertaker suited up for Money Train this past summer in NYC and helped lead the team to the T.O.C. finals, where they lost to X-Men.
Congratulations, Cory.

philly’s loaded with bigs and he probably won’t make the team but it’s still a good look for him.

corey is a good dude and i’m sure he’ll make the most of the opportunity whether he makes the final roster or not. good thing is once you have nba attached to your resume’, you can get a lot more money anywhere else overseas, even if it’s a ’sixers free agent’ title with no stats. i’m sure k1x will be happy, too!

good look for corey, boards, d, blocked shots and then points could give him chance after chance on this level.

Now what I wanna know is how does he make the 76ers
But isn’t top 5, top 10 in the end of summer poll?????
Couch, you said T2 was the most nba ready and a lot of people I spoke to thought cory was. At his height he does a lot with that ball & honestly a lot of his post work / offensive skills were straight nba moves! What guy in nyc can turn face jab 1 way dribble right step back at 6′ 10??
Good luck cory!

real deal-
you’re comment is way out of line, b. we’ve crazy supported all shoe brands at http://www.bouncemag.com, particularly k1x, just write their name in the search box and you’ll see. and trevor took that picture at west 4th as horizontal shot, cory is 6′10″, the court is narrow, how do you suppose he could’ve gotten his whole body unless he did it vertically? do the math, homeboy, and dont’ ever suppose that nike or any other brand, no matter how much they advertise with us, controls our creative decisions with regards to exposing other companies. the swoosh gets a ton of pub on our site cuz they also happen to deserve it. we’re fair. i don’t appreciate you saying ‘hoe’ move at all.

Ins:
Corey has good size and a soft touch but I think Corey is more of a training camp fill in who will have a great experience and get another chance if he shows he can board, body bump and maintain a professional presentation on a steady basis. You can have 2 killer days of camp and then fade when plays and defensive schemes come in. You learn and if injuries hit you can hit the jackpot if you steady your head and work through the camp jitters and pace.
I wish Corey well.

RIP- i wasn’t trying to show cory any disrespect, i just wanted to make it clear that it’s not a 5 year deal so that if he in fact doesn’t make the team, people don’t say “but trev said he was signed as a free agent.” and as bob said, just being able to say you had a run with an nba team goes a long way. you know what i’m saying? i wish cory the best though.

Seldom Seen says:
The article proudly points out the fact that he’s been invited to camp and ends by congratulating Corey…let’s be realistic whether or not he makes the Sixers remains way up in the air and he is quite honestly a longshot…that said I’m pretty confident that all Bounce reader’s and NY’er wants him to make the cut…recognizing now that he like so many others has overcome the odds makes us pull for him even more…it’s really that simple…he comes from our streets, playgrounds and parks so “NO DOUBT” we are pulling for the Underdog our boy The Undertaker…reagrdless of the outcome we all support him and wish him nothing less than success…which was obviously the writers intent.

Seldom Seen says:
Oh and about the kickz…if you have ever peeped Bounce before then one should obviously realize that they have promoted and are very open to every sneaker brand out there directly or indirectly and without bias…may I suggest knowing a little more about the history and one’s facts before making false assumptions which slice not into Bounce’s very reputable credibility which is not in question here but instead into those making such unfounded allegations…doing due diligence would be wise
