Samaritan’s Feet is an International ministry focused on conveying a life-altering message to impoverished youth around the world through sports and recreational endeavors. They demonstrate their collective passions by outfitting children with shoes and touching their hearts with God.

“Read more” for a letter from founder Manny Ohonme outlining his daring 300 mile barefoot journey from Charlotte, North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia to raise awareness for the aforementioned kids in need.

“Dear Friends and Samaritan’s Feet Supporter:

I am asking for your help in mobilizing your friends, church, schools, civic groups and company to take part in our World Walk that is scheduled to kick off on Oct 11 at 11am at the Bass Pros Shop in Concord Mills. The event will be a part a 5K to kick-off my 300 mile journey in my bare feet from Charlotte to Atlanta. I will begin my journey in Charlotte, NC at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway on October 11th and finish in Atlanta, GA at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 26th.

We would like for you to join me and a number of other on this life-changing journey. If you can’t do the entire walk, you can help walk a portion of the journey, or help raise pledges for the walk. Samaritan’s Feet, Speedway Children’s Charities and NASCAR are asking you to sign up to be a part of the “World Walk”. Beside the kick-off walk at Concord Mill on October 11 - on October 25th, we are asking participants from all over the world to take part in the world walk, by walking one mile at 12:00pm (eastern). People from around the world will join me and our team as we head towards Atlanta. At previous shoe distribution locations throughout the world, people will walk in their community in support of Samaritan’s Feet. Thousands of people will walk simultaneously to put shoes on the feet of children. You can either join an already scheduled walk or you can help host a walk in your city on October 25th at 12pm EST.

Our goal is to raise $1,000,000 or 300,000 pairs of shoes during this 300 mile journey. I will be stopping at historic sites throughout my journey recognizing political figures and citizens who have changed our country for the better. Samaritan’s Feet will conduct shoe distributions along the way in communities throughout the journey.

You can do it at your house, your kid’s games or where ever you are. Walk 1 mile for children around the world who don’t have shoes, and help pray for a better future for them. For as little as $20, your registration will help us purchase and deliver a new pair of shoes in your honor to a child in need around the world.

To sign up for the Charlotte walk at Bass Pros Shop at Concord Mills on October 11 or the World Walk on October 25, or to download registration and pledge forms, or make a donation please visit us online at www.samaritansfeet.org. You’ve been a huge blessing to this ministry and me personally…For this I thank you and honored to be called your friend…Let us know if you have any questions..

If you can’t walk, but can pledge to help us towards our goal, please let me know how much financially you can pledge towards our goal. We also have inner city kids and youths that would love to participate in the walk but can’t afford to - please let us know if you or people within your network would be interested in sponsoring one or more of these youths to help participate in changing lives around the world!”
