OJ Mayo Vs. Born Ready ABCD BATTLE 2005 Uncategorized / Sep 17, 2008 / 10:00 am

Where you there in the summer of ‘05? Lance “Born Ready” Stephenson was a young 8th grader/incoming HS frosh who had already played in Kingdome and EBC @ Rucker Park, so going head to head against a known player was nothing to him as he took on the nation’s #1 recruit OJ Mayo at ABCD Camp.

Will Lance take all his battle scars, city and state titles, and wind up being a better NBA player than Mayo? Will Mayo ever make a NYC summerball appearance?

The video may look like to some like OJ Destroyed Lance but he only outscored him 21-16 as for OJ Mayo making on a NYC Summerball appearance he has to, he almost did 4 the first annual boost moblie Elite 24 game but it think he got injured and didn’t come but if he does make an appearance next summer and ends up playing against Lance i think lance will look for some revenge..

I was @ that battle for the titans @ the ABCD camp and Born Ready was born. Lance went at the best player in the nation and even though it woke up a sleeping giant Mayo he showed the nation that High School basketball a treat. But ever since Lance went @ Mayo it showed that he worked harder and seasons later attained a 3 city titles and 2 state titles and maybe a 4th and 3. New York better catch him now soon u might have to pay to see him.

A.Ford, yeah we both commented on this EPIC battle on Aug 22nd.”And Lance will still dominate….”
I too was at this battle and BROOKLYN WAS DEFINITELY IN THE HOUSE,but they forgot West Virginia was holding it down.Lance was only 14 going on 15 (some haters were whispering he was 16,but I confirmed his age with Tom Konchalski super scout) and remember O.J WAS 18 GOING ON 19.But it was very memorable and much credit to Lance for having the COJONES to take it to OJ cause alot of kids were intimidated by him.Bill Walker also did his thing as well.

Mayo played one game at the Kingdome 2 years ago and scored 27 points. I think lance will be better than O.J. in a few yrs.
