Dyckman-Jim Couch Foundation-NY Patriots / Aug 26, 2008 / 7:05 pm

Summer league ball has come to a close and one of the top young teams of the summer is the 14-and-under Dyckman-Jim Couch Foundation/NY Patriot team. The team has size, speed, and pedigree. The backcourt of God Shammgod Jr, son of God Shammgod, and my nephew O’Shea Bell, MVP of the Tri-State and the Jim Calhoun Camp at UCONN, play alongside two of the top rising 9th graders in the country, Daniel Dingle, brother of UMASS alumni Dana Dingle, and Nkereuwem Okoro. The team took the Tri-State Classic and Harlem’s Young World this summer.

MVP O’Shea Bell and Coach Elliot Rosado

The Dyckman-Jim Couch Foundation-Patriot crew is one of the best passing units I’ve seen in a long time with all five starters possessing the ability to bring the ball up on the break.

Dingle and Okoro also run with Long Island Lightning-Dingle and have proven themselves on the national level winning the AAU 14-and-under nationals down in Orlando. The kids are well-coached on the AAU level with Dana and head coach Darryl Washington and on the playground with Elliot Rosado and Wayne Wilson.

They will be featured October 18, 2008 at the Jim Couch Reunion Games this fall at Kennedy H.S. The game will also feature a H.S. girls and boys All-Star game. Read more about the team’s summer excellence.

    Phenomenal post Coach Couch!

After bearing witness to one of the best summers the NYC Unlimited ciruit has ever had, it’s great to hear about the next generation of playground superstars!

This team is special. They have a great mix of tournament playground play and AAU comp that will go a long way in their development.

I have saw that kid Oshea play and he is a Phemomenal athlete. I think he should be one of the best guards in the city.
