Watson Classic, Sunday 8/24 3pm-8:30pm.
6 Train to Soundview & Morrison Ave Station (court is 1/2 block away next to softball field).

Watson Classic MCs Joe Pope and his partner P.O. are straight comedy on the mic, perhaps the funniest duo out right now, reminiscent of Ronnie Green and Gumby in the early ’80s King Towers’ heyday complete with skits, nicknames, and snaps and then more snaps. No one is excused! The crowd, refs, and mostly the players get the jokes. Very few tournaments are still having games, so make sure you don’t miss Sunday’s action, which will kick off with a 3-on-3 feature Joe, P.O., and our own Bobbito against some politicians and celebrities. Will be entertaining to say the least!

All-Star Andre “Jamie Foxx With Bad Dental Work” Bagot.

Games are Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 3pm for the youth, 3pm to 8:30pm for the Unlimited Division.

Pro city may rank first as far as the competition. But i’m talking about overall comp & entertainment. Tri-Satate & Watson Classic got that.

  6. Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love says:

P.O., announcer at Watson, did play D1 at Alabama according to Joe Pope. we won yesterday, and i can say PO and Joe Pope, who once averaged 30+ in EBC @ Rucker Park, both had nice games. i could tell at one point years ago they went hard.
