We said all year long that Young Money Train was the most talented team at West 4th St. (3rd St., 6th Ave), but that their overconfidence could be their kryptonite. Monday night, that arrogance finally caught up to them as Uninvited Guest, which finished the regular season just 4-3, ran previously-unbeaten Y.M.T. out of the Cage, literally, for a 139-125 upset in the first round of the playoffs.

Y.M.T. had to play without Sundiata Gaines and UConn-bound Kemba Walker, but still suited up Miguel “The Video Game” Millien and Florida-bound Erving Walker.

Drago Pavlovic was unstoppable for U.G., scoring in the paint at will and also stepping outside to hit the trey. The Bible-strong big finished with 38 points and athletic lefty George Bullock dropped 32, despite arriving in the second quarter. Deron Rippey added 26 for U.G.

Y.M.T. looked sharp in the beginning and jumped out to an early lead behind the 5-foot-8 Walker’s hot hand. But U.G. came back to take a five-point lead at the end of the first and led by 12 with 3:40 left in the third stanza. Y.M.T. cut that deficit to just six early in the fourth, but U.G. quickly answered and got the lead back up to 12 behind the unstoppable combo of Pavlovic and Bullock, and put it on cruise control from there.

Walker, a Christ the King HS product, finished with 38 points for Y.M.T., and showed why Florida Head Coach Billy Donovan has been so high on him for this long. Millien added 22.

The West 4th St. playoffs are scheduled to resume Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. with Big Apple Basketball taking on the X-Men.
