Every time I see an NBA player in person, I always got to check out what’s on their feet. You never know what crazy player exclusives they’ll have on. Around the year 2000, I saw Michael Finley at the mall and I remember he was rocking the black with the silver tongue Jordan V’s. John Stockton used to go to my church and he always had some regular white Nike tennis shoes on. Not too surprising. He never seemed like the kind of guy that would wear retro Jordan’s anyway…especially in church for that matter.

Last week, I was covering the NBA Live Camp 2008 at the EA Canada Studios up here in Vancouver. A bunch of NBA guys like Tony Parker, Brandon Roy, Andrea Bargnani, Rudy Gay and Andre Iguodala were all there promoting the upcoming release of NBA Live 09. All five guys happen to rep Nike as well. Parker was wearing a pair of red Jordan Phly’s. Seattle’s finest, B-Roy, had a clean pair of black with the snake-skin print Jordan AJF 3 LS’ on. Rudy was sporting Nike’s new go-to shoe, the Hyperdunk’s. His HD’s were white and black and not sure if they were player exclusives. Both Bargnani and Iguodala were rocking white AF1’s. The only difference was A.I.’s pair looked fresh out of the box and Andrea’s pair looked like he just mowed the lawn in them. Memo to Nike: send this man some new shoes! Can’t be in the NBA and have your kicks looking like that!

Iguodala is a mean sneaker head. i met him last summer, and he told me, ‘i saw them af1s you had on at the garden!’ i was stunned! he was talking about the wheat ones i designed for the af1 25th anniversary in ‘07. nike blessed me with them a month early, and i was working the sideline for MSG Network doing interviews. he killed the knicks that game, cuffed it on jeffries something terrible! but the only way he could’ve peeped my joints was during the contest while he was on the court! what would his coach think if he know that his star player was paying attention to hot joints instead of the game! haha

ha ha. You know it was a tough year for the Knicks when opposing players are checking out the crowd and what they’re wearing and STILL beat them

its been tough years for the knicks for years.

Guys, the joints BRoy is wearing are not AJF 3’s.. they’re Jordan Classic ’87s.
