After an exciting regular season at Hunter College (68th and Lexington Ave.), the season within a season starts tonight. Nike Pro City has been killin’ it as far as bringing pros to the summer ball scene. Besides the Dyckman League, no other Nike sponsored tourney will be in session. Playoff games begin at 6:30 p.m. with Dyckman versus Ron Artest and Queenbridge. In the 8:30 p.m. contest, number one seeded Yata Gaines and Prime Time will square off against Gold’s Gym.

Tonight at 204th and Nagle Ave. the playoffs begin. There will be a total of three games beginning at 7:30p.m. In the first game J.T.A will take on Zipway. In the 8:30 contest Body Snatchers battle Bingo All-Stars and the Harlem Ballers featuring Kenny Satterfield, will match-up against Steve Burtt Jr. and 84th Street in the night cap.

I don’t want to forget about couple of players that are not playing on the circuit, but were a huge part of that team. The best player on that team was Billy Dodson. He was the “The Captain”.Billy, now resides in South Carolina. He is a middle school social studies teacher in South Carolina. Kevin Draughon 2 was that sparkplug of the bench, his energy gave the team a lift and we usually put the team away when Kevin came in the game. Kevin is currently a very successful stockbroker on Wall Street and he is also enrolled in Law school.
