(l-r): A victorious Randy Cruz, Kemba “EZ Pass” Walker, and Joe Cruz Jr.

Young CEO’s Joe and Randy Cruz brought a Hoops In The Sun All-Star squad up to Wash-Heights to battle Commissioners Kenny Stevens and Ralph Peña’s Dyckman Select team. They brought out the best players from each respective tournament with H.I.T.S. reppin’ K1X and Dyckman flaunting the Swoosh, of course. The “Beach” crew cruised to a 91-74 victory behind the superb play of their young superstars EZ Pass and The Cab Driver. “EZ” led all scorers with 24 points, while his partner in crime finished with 22.

Curt “Watch Me Go To Work” Stinson and John “Franchise” Strickland were the house team’s one-two punch, but their scoring just wasn’t enough to do any real damage. Dyckman’s defense couldn’t stop the H.I.T.S. fastbreak at all. One of the best sequences was when EZ Pass put a tazmanian devil type spin move on his Dyckman defender, than finished on two more players at the buttercup. Serious spill-out followed!

A similar special events game took place two weeks ago under the watchful eye of the 1-train. A Philly team made their way into Dyckman ready to go to war, but proved to be no match for brothers Anthony and Mike Glover. That contest was phenomenal as well, and the next one promises to be just as great!

Dyckman has produced some of the best games of summer ‘08, so make sure you’re there Friday to witness (8/8/08) to see them challenge a Brazilian All-Star squad.

brazilian all-star squad? wow! if they bring their drummers, a more interesting battle could be with the dyckman’s crowd musicians, especially when dominican power is out there with the trompeta!

  2. fan says:

kemba walker is a pro. NYC is on it’s way back. He is game is old-school.

  3. Mr. Dimes says:

    Bob,

the energy at this game was sick. G-Stacks and the Dyckman announcer were goin at each other all nite and there were alot of Bx reps in the Dyckman stands for HITS. Good game all around. Everyone saw headache and Burtt Jr. walking around and assumed Dyckman pulled out the Big Guns, but unfortunately they didn’t suit up.

    Good Stuff though…
