    one of the top 5 players in the city on both sides of the ball. always over looked and underestimated…. known him since he was a kid,good to see him to start to get the light he’s long earned…..

    ’start to get the light?’ g–who doesn’t know about mike campbell?! he’s been on our radar since day 1. i remember announcing the first nike battlegrounds 1 on 1 competition in 2002. mike took that with basics. we were also teammates when we won the ‘02 hoops in the sun tournament. he got a lot of grace to his game. i will share this–i whooped him up in a couple of 3 point contests at john jay college some summers ago! he couldn’t see me! and one of my greatest moments of 1 on 1 was getting a chance to play against him at basketball city. paul rivera can tell you the rest of that story . . .

    mike is the man.

    MC had his way with the defense all night against Dipset. He’s a cerebral player and really orchestrates the offense to make the game easier for his teammates. He’s fun to watch. Although, he did almost blow the game when he missed that crucial lay-up in the second half last night!

    ball dudes in nyc know about mike,but it always seems like hes an after thought. his name is always mentioned after a so and so,blank blank,you know? with the battlegrounds thing,he was an after thought there too. higher profile names were all put in the chip match before he shut the carter down….

    did the announcer say something about mike’s hairline, that ish been gone for months. He has been holding on for dear life but I guess that last trip overseas put the nail in the coffin….
