Dyckman
As far as entertaining match-ups and straight ballin’ out go, Dyckman (204th st./Nagle Ave.) supplied like the Staples Easy Button. Last night, former Rice H.S. and Manhattan College star Jason “1,000 Dribbles” Wingate went at it with a youngin’ when his Jimmy Starzz took on JTA. Jason provided the dish, while a baby-faced “Spin Cycle” showed him the swish. Their 1-on-1 battle stole the show. End result: Jimmy Starzz triumph 78-63.

The nightcap saw Rodney Park take on Dip Set, who brought a Harlem entourage with them for moral support. In this game, both guard and post match-ups were pay-per-view worthy. Mookie, who suited up for the BK squad, went head-to-head with Adrian “A Butta” Walton. Mook’s teammate Nesto, a flash of lightning when he’s got the rock in the open floor, was assigned to Antifreeze. In the paint, Corey “The Undertaker” Underwood had his hands full with BK’s MurderKill. Some broken ankles, “ooh, did I just see that,” and dented backboards later, Dip Set wins 81-77. A Butta poured in a strong 16 buckets, while Rodney Park’s Nesto netted 13.

West 4th
After a hard-fought win last week against the Corporate League All-Stars, Big Apple Basketball carried that momentum into Monday night’s game at West 4th St. (3rd St., 6th Ave.) and defeated T.A. Express by 16. Mike Nurse Sr. led B.A.B. with 19 points, 17 coming in the first half, and David Capers added 18.

B.A.B. led by just two after the first, but pulled away in the second and took a 46-30 lead into the break. Aquawasi “Q” St. Hillaire continued his M.V.P. caliber season and poured in 27 for T.A., which had to play without All-Star guard Courtney Castro.

Kenny Graham’s West 4th resumes action tomorrow night at 6:00pm.
