Before Monday night came to an early end due to the rain, an upset was brewing at West 4th. Young Money Train faced an X-Men squad who showed up with a depleted roster. The X-Men’s best player, Mike “The Icon” Campbell didn’t arrive until late in the second quarter. He never got a chance to bake anyone because by half time the game was called.

Young Money jumped all over the X-Men behind the hot shooting of rising Rice HS senior Durand Scott. Scott hit his first three shots en route to ten first half points. Also doing damage for Young Money was Marcel. He gave X-Men defenders fits off the bounce and got in the paint at will.

The lone X-Men bright spot was Tommy Eddie’s play. The former Boys and Girls HS star scored 10 in the first half for his squad. Play resumes today with Young Money holding a 47-31 lead and two quarters to play. Fuego Mayical will take on Jump in a regularly scheduled match up set to tip-off at 6pm.
