Hoops In The Sun at Orchard Beach is starting to resemble the good ol’ ’80s NBA shoot-outs between the high scoring Nuggets and Spurs.
Last week, R2K’s Dwight Hardy scored 54 vs Money Train.
This week, Bingo’s All-Star rookie “The Cab Driver” dropped 65 on PR Pride, 43 in the second half! The point total eclipsed “Serious Satellite” Kenny Satterfield’s HITS record of 62 back in ‘06. The only asterisk is that Satt’s numbers were completely done outside in the blistering heat, whereas the Driver played one quarter on the beach and the other three indoors due to rain.
The All-Stars went on to defeat PR Pride/K1X 134-125, led by Ira Miller’s 55 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists.
Next weekend’s HITS schedule:
Saturday, July 5th
PR Pride / K1X vs. Hoop Street 1:00 p.m.
R2K vs. Money Inc. 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 6th
Bingo’s All-Stars vs. SCAN NY 12:00 p.m.
PR Pride / K1X vs. TNP / POPS 5 2:00 p.m.
Team 914 vs. Money Train 4:00 p.m.
