The NBA playoffs were good, but Fireball’s were bananas!

In the semifinals, Gunhill entered as the #4 seed, but upset undefeated NYAC 95-78 behind Aaron “The Problem” Williams’ 29 buckets (18/19 FTs). In the other bracket, Nets point guard Marcus Williams nailed both free throws in the final seconds and GCD prevailed with a narrow win over Coach Lil’ Rah’s Sean Bell All-Stars.

In the final, GCD started three pros: Williams who finished with 31 points, Nets teammate Sean Williams, and Smush Parker who dropped 24. But they were no match for AJ Millen a.k.a. “The Video Game” w/ 26 and MVP Fred “Razor” Williams’ 25 pts and eight REs as Gunhill upset GCD to win the Fireball Championship ‘08.

Congrats to Rickey Rivers who pulled together a tremendous season with tons of NBA and overseas pros as well as NYC’s best local ballplayers. For more info, check www.funsportinc.com
