Though the Americana has been retroed previously, this release marks the first time the ABA’s official shoe is being reissued in a true-to-form context. The mesh upper is buttery smooth, while the leather toe box is soft and flexed nicely. The shoe will drop soon at urban adidas Original accounts. The only differences I could note were the lack of “Made in France” on the tongue (which is no longer economically viable of course) and the black outsole. But I’m not being picky, these joints are fire regardless!

Look for more news on the Americana this Thursday.

cats would’ve cut off their left hand for those back in teh ’70s, they were hard to find in new york. many of my crew who couldn’t cop them would customize their own version americana using the superstar instead . . .

stop frontin’, russ! you know you were still wearing busted up 69ers in ‘76! we all were! hahahahaha

  5. Russ says:

Do you realize that questioning a sneakerheads’ ability do land a pair of hi-top Americanas is just as serious as questioning someone’s yo-yo? All I can say is that the next time we ball it would be in your best interest to stay out the paint!

i’ll stay out the paint gladly, when do i ever play D down there anyhow! haha!
