FRIDAY, JUNE 6th:
7:00pm: NYAC - GUNHILL
9:00pm: GCD - DDN/SEAN BELL SUNDAY,

Sunday, JUNE 8th:
2:00pm: 2008 FIREBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The regular season ended with outstanding performances by former New York Knick All-Star Alan Houston, Mike Campbell, Kenny Satterfield, Mike Haines, Anton Douby, Steve Burtt Jr., Keon Lawrence, Woody Souffrant, Jarrid Frye, Ralphael Edwards, and Louis Campbell. You know the action was serious if this level of talent didn’t even make the playoffs.

Undefeated NYAC is the favorite to win it all, led by season MVP Nate Brown. They made a solid last minute addition with Jerry McCullough. Other key players include Bryan Matthews, Bryant Dunston, J.C. Mathis, high school phenom Jordan Theodore, and Donald Copeland…

GCD has the most talent led by Nate Robinson (New York Knicks) and Smush Parker (Los Angeles Clippers). Other key players include McDonalds All-American Kemba Walker, Charles Jones, 7′3″ Shagari Alleyne, Quinton “t2″ Hosely, John Strickland, John Wallace, and Stixx Williams…

Sean Bell’s All-Stars led by Coach Rah will be prepared to give GCD a tough challenge. The frontline is ridiculous with Garnett Thompson, Mark McCarroll, and B.J. McFarland. Expect to see the Sean Bell family behind the benches for moral support. Guards Phil Grant, Speedy Williams, “Twenty”, and a possible appearance by J.R. smith from the Denver Nuggets will have their hands full …

Gunhill is no weak link to the playoffs although they fell to a #4 seed. Led by Aaron “The Problem” Williams, they have the talent to defeat NYAC. Along with “Problem” they can go to Fred “Razor” Williams, Bob Mahoney. Miguel aka “The Video Game”, Chudney Gray, and “Footz”.

This league is a good look. Brooklyn never surprises, when it comes to basketball showcases.

Hey listen,I linked to the Funsportinc.com website and scrolled through the pics, from the Fireball, and saw one of former Bad Boy Guru - Mousey. What is he up to these days? I knew a few years back he had his own website and league for youth called “Mousey’s Kids”. Does that still exist?
    Catch me up Bounce!

^^Mousey started his own Tournament Uptown last year called “Tri State Classic”

I havent heard anything about it yet this year tho. But,the summer is still young.

mousey’s tri-state classic will definitely be in effect this june real soon on 145th st. and lenox monday thru thursdays. nike has come in as a sponsor, so you know it’s got some support under it for real. and last year’s tri-state vs. ball 4 real contest might’ve been the best joint of the summer.
