adidas is celebrating and commemorating the Celtics’ attempts for a seventeenth NBA championship through a limited quickstrike release of the Team Signature Commander, a team shoe slated to release in ’08. This rare exclusive will sport Garnett’s domepiece on the ankle collar, along with an NBA Finals emblem on the medial side. Sound hot?

Each game, the Three Stripes will be releasing eight pairs to hit stores at a special retail price of $1,017, with all profits going to NBA Cares affiliates in the Boston area. At the end of the series, one special pair of the TS Commanders will be auctioned off on NBA.com by KG himself.

not for nothing, although kobe adn i share the same alma mater in lower merion hs, i wouldn’t be mad to see kg get his first chip. not mad at all. interviewed him for my vibe magazine column almost 10 years ago, and was a mad cool brother. can say the same for kobe, but he’s got 3 rings already and will get his again. the happiest i’d be is for derek fisher, though. not crazy about his style, but my heart goes out to what he’s been through with his daughter adn all that.
