In a rematch of last week’s season finale, our Nike NRF League Team Shox took on 1st Place finishers Team Huarache in a first round showdown last night. NRF commissioner Jeff Staple predicted that we would say goodbye, and we did! The crew didn’t bow out without battling, though. We took our only lead with under 10 minutes to go, but it wasn’t enough. Huarache will probably take the chip, and I’ll be rooting for them no doubt. Shout out to their Big 3: Lekeith Taylor (who punched my lay-up late in the game), Christian Grant-Fields (The Hold It Down Warrior), and Pat Cassidy (The Drill Mechanic). They played great. Super pound and hug to Shox members Justin Leonard, Josh G, Jed, Naomi (the league’s first female player), Whitey, Burke, Hawaii Mike, and Stanley Lumax.
Personal consolations . . . I finished #1 in 3 pointers made per game for the fourth season in a row (check league leaders), dropped 19 in a losing cause which was my all-time NRF play-off high, and commish told me I’d get Sneaker of the Week honors for wearing these tasty morsels:

I had to pass on this month’s Jordan CDP to be able to grab a pair of these. I’ve been wanting for a pair since I saw them on the CD that came with the XX3s. I honestly haven’t felt this much for a pair of J’s since childhood. Bravo mister Hatfield
