Our squad The 97 got a crew in SBL. John “Franchise” Strickland played for the pre-season Knicks in the ’90s, Tyshawn “From the Baly Wan” has toured with And 1, “Jiggy” Josh was All-City at Wadleigh HS, “All Day” Dre Bagot just finished a season in the ABA, Dave Capers played in the NBA officially, Tone “The Batman” Greer was a former EBC rebounding champ, Maui repped pro in the Dominican Republic, “Van Horn” is going to a JuCo, and then you got me and Kirk Rodriguez holdin’ down the block with threes and vet leadership. We’re now 10-1. The score you see above was from our last game. We’ve been waxing the competition and then some. Shout out to “Baly Wan” for catchin’ my oop, felt like I snuffed it myself!

(L-R) Kool Bob Love, “All-Day” Dre Bagot, Maui, and Tyshawn “From the Baly Wan.”

Lest anyone think the league is lite, hence the 10-1 record, Team “A Game” was also 10-1 until last weeks defeat vs. “Marc Stars” which they dropped in overtime due to an offensive goaltending play down the stretch that would have tied it and possibly sent it into another O.T. That lost clinches “The 97’s” number 1 seeding.
“BX Finest” (97’s only lost) and “Fear This” are 8-3 respectively.
